Snus and spitting....

I am beginning to get the feeling that i'm the only one who spits... maybe it's because i dipped briefly before getting into snus, IDK...

I can't help it, when I pop in a pouch, I start to salivate. Am I alone on this one?

Not much, depends on the time but I get a few spits out of a fresh portion not so much with the los.

I get a run of saliva going with a new portion most every one but it's a pleasure to just swallow. It is just my saliva, with wintergreen oil added!

i typically only leave a snus in for about 5-10 min. i try to get as much flavor and nicotine out, then toss it. I love that first spit! i let it sit and steep for a few minutes, allowing the flavor to be drawn out, then spit. delicious and dark brown. a few more spits, and it's done.

but i hear many people snus under their upper lip (maybe that helps with the spitting). i keep my pouches (2 at a time) in the front under my lower lip.

Unlike dip snus is made to be placed under the upper lip. The reason is that there is much less saliva. That would help a lot with the spitting. I keep my in for up to 2 hours. The saliva is just pure flavor for me and no need to waste that.

when camel snus first came out a few years ago, I did the same thing. I had the pouches under my lower lip in front, and i found myself having the need to spit. I eventually gave up on the Camel for this reason, and it wasn't until last year that I discovered swedish snus. I usually start with my pouch in my upper lip, and it eventually finds its way to the upper cheek on the side of my molars. No spitting, no excess saliva. Give it a try with the upper lip!

Yep lower lip portioning is not worth it.. waste of snus. Now if you wanna dip then go for it.

Think of dip as low brow and massive wads needed then the lower lip is great.

Think of snus as upper class there for goes in the upper lip. The tobacco ninja will last a long time and not cause the ballfield browns.

Yeh upper lip, but definitely a drink to hand - coffee or orange squash - in case there is a rush of minty nic.

thanks guys. i appreciate the responses. may have to try the upper lip approach for a more discreet snus!

however i have my last 2 Lucky Strike pouches in now, and since they are no longer available, don't know if ill be ordering something else anytime soon. I really enjoy this stuff, and nothing else I've tried really compares. The Phillip Morris stuff (1847 ???) is good. I also like the CAMEL (swedish... not that junk they sell in the states). but i'm not sure if those have been banned too.

If there's anyone outside of the states, that wants to send me some Lucky Strike snus, I'd be more than grateful!

Somewhere round here it's been covered, while back anyways, The Camel and Lucky Strike aren't banned from sale, rather prohibited due to brand name copyright issues.

Pity that, so many folks rave on the flavor of em', I've not had the pleasure meself.
