I have purchased 3 of these Vape Pens from 3 different distributors. These these things leak juice no matter what trick you try! But the most serious and DANGEROUS leakage problem is the one that leaks behind/ around the FIRE BUTTON! I have had TWO instances of these devices AUTO FIRING and almost causing FIRES! The 1st was in my backpack where I smelled smoke and was able to grab the device but it was so hot that it burnt my hand! The 2nd one happened with the device just sitting on my nightstand, beside my bed at night! Luckily, the sound woke me up when it AUTO FIRED and I was able to turn it off! Once again, the battery was hot and the FIRE BUTTON didn't want to shut down! I am a long time Vaper and know how to handle multiple mods and other devices, including storing my batteries correctly! In my opinion, these things are dangerous because the juice leak behind/around the FIRE BUTTON shorts out the board and it can no longer tell if it's OFF/ON! I KNOW that I had clicked the device OFF because I ALWAYS check my devices and I even gave it the draw/ inhale test to insure the device was OFF even after it gave me blink that it was off!! # OCD/ Careful Vaper!

I've had 3 so far. None from leaking, just poor design or qc. I buy inexpensive mods so maybe that's the problem but I don't buy twice.
I loved them! I also have a degree in comp science. So, I had problems with leaking from behind FIRE button from beginning, especially since fire button is directly across from USB Port! Who creates a device that tells you it's perfectly OK for there to be juice on the FIRE button which; shows u ur battery level, is directly attached to it circuit bord, and turns ur powerful device off/ on!!!

No one likes a leaking atomizer.

If I were you I'd put the Smok vape pens in a drawer and order a tried and true solution. iStick Pico 75W is a solid mod with a replaceable 18650 cell that uses any 22mm atomizer. It will fit rebuildable atomizers or those that use factory made coils. Search here on ECF for reviews and comments and pick the atomizer that is best for you. Pico is very common among ECF members. You can find them for under $30 if you search.

Vape pens are common among new vapers who eventually switch a popular atomizer of their choice. I did the same thing almost 10 years ago and had the same issues you are talking about.

There have been far too many poor QC issues with Smok. If you're lucky, it just goes dead instead of venting, firing issues. Don't reward them with more money. The Innokin Chroma and Zenith tank look like a great choice too. You can either buy coils or build your own.

Good luck. The Smokers Show on YouTube is returning this month, and they usually plug their Innokin duo on there.

Well, it's an all in one device... The ONLY option I can think of, is just replace the device itself. There are no modifications, upgrades, extra glass, or alternative coils... it is what it is, and if it's a leaking mod, that is what it is. Make sure everything is screwed in tightly, use a higher VG based juice if possible... if it is leaking through the outside, put that vape band over the leak and carry a paper towel with you to clean it... if it is leaking on the inside, put it in a safe bag and dispose of it properly if you cannot return it where you got it.

Like others have said, there are much better options out there. If you bought three of them, you could've bought a real nice device... sometimes you save more money by spending more money for a better device from the get go...I think that is true in your situation.

Look ah, you can have degree and be educated and still lack common sense.

IDK if a mod of mine started AUTOFIRING I wouldn't replace it with the exact same mod. I might also get online (you DO know about the internet I am assuming given your degree) and well, congrats and all that for finding us but I am here to say:

STOP USING WHAT YOU HAVE, "replacing it" "fixing it" (you can't) and for the love of all that is holy find a vape that isn't going to blow up and you can also COME to love.

I promise, it's doable.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Suggest trying Eleaf, been using the Istick for many years. I have found that engineering designers are, for the most part, not at fault regarding these types of problems. I would guess that 99% of the time, the engineers are aware of these problems but it's cost money to fix them resulting in increasing the product selling price. These poor practice decisions ( I have seen it a few times) are generally made by upper management.

@stribb01, stop using them and work out how to dispose of them. As from what you've posted they are dangerous to use
Do you have another non SMOK mod that you can use?
as

I'm I long time vapor and several mods available. I only wanted something that I could fit in my pocket or backpack and easily care around!

I bought them all at within the same time frame because of the leakage problem and I take offense at the euphemisms that you use to basically call me sophomoric! The 2 Auto fire incidents just randomly happened within the last two weeks! I am an introvert and rarely post on forums, muchless start one! But when one auto fired after being cold and while I was sleeping right next to it, I thought I should at least try to WARN someone! So before you go and judge someone, please make sure that you have all the facts in evidence!

If she called you sophomoric, which she didn't, that would be polite. SMOK is cheap garbage. Anything you have that is SMOK is garbage, a waste of money and potentially dangerous. Do yourself a favor and do some research and get something worth having. Friends don't let friends deal with SMOK!

@stribb01, a proper small removable battery mod may fit your requirements.

If you have an external battery charger that can fit 21700 cells, that would be very useful. If not, that's okay.

Single 18650 mods.

Smoant Battlestar Mini
Geekvape Aegis SOLO

Single 21700 mods.

Vandy Vape Jackaroo
SXmini SL Class

These are only ideas.

You said you bought three from different vendors "Because of the leakage problem." I don't buy mods that leak because they "go good in my purse." If they leak, I do some research and then find something SIMILAR. There are THOUSANDS of vapes available, probably, that would be equally suitable. The three different vendors tells me it was NOT in the same time frame probably. However your burning "need" to warn others tells me you vaped and carried your leaky mods for a while, before they started autofiring. That almost seems reasonable, especially with SMOK.

I told you that you needed some common sense and to move on from SMOK.

I don't really think "no common sense" and "sophomoric" mean the same thing at all. IF you would like to be upset about my post, DO at least make sure you understand what you THINK I am insulting you with. Reading comprehension is a valuable skill too.

But I do apologize for any uh, ire you may have taken at my initial post.

Also, it's easy to "post the facts" AFTER the fact and then say I insulted you. If I did not "have the facts" from your initial post (and they most certainly weren't there) I don't understand how you expect me to read your mind and/or teleport to your location to find out what the "True facts" are/were.

Jeez dude chill out already. Your first post was concerning, and it still is. Get rid of those mods and get something else. You don't need to warn others just buy some different mods and move on with your life. I hope you aren't coming to Douglas AZ after you finish your degree because I don't want you working on MY computer.

Maybe now you know something about SMOK that you did not prior and well, growing forum pains along the way are WELL worth it, to be totally honest. You are just having a hissy fit now, and it is not necessary.

I do not understand REPEAT purchases of stuff that doesn't work. WARRANTIES maybe (do you know about those?) but not REPEAT purchases from different vendors. The vendor will NOT make the difference, even slightly.

Agree with this. Here's just a few posts that I could find quickly about SMOK gear. This brand has a LONG history of poor quality control, but unless you frequent this forum regularly you wouldn't be aware.

should I give smok one more chance
