If it's helping you quit stick with it. If I were a pod person, I would greatly prefer to be able to fill it with my own liquid so I think you are good there.
Some good online juice vendors include Heather's Heavenly Vapes, Ohm's vapes, and well a bunch of others. It can be a bit dizzying making choices. If you have a vape shop that allows you to try flavors near you, well, that may help you find flavors you like. They can be a bit hard to find these days.
Many online vendors will sell small sample packs to taste that can also give you an idea of what you might like.

Also, you may find yourself branching out from your first mod, but not right away. That is totally fine. If you quit for good you will want at least one backup anyway.

As far as your question regarding flavours you have already had the answer. As far as quitting the death sticks goes keep going if its working for you. You need to make sure that your nic level is sufficient for the amount you used to smoke.
If you're struggling with the satisfaction side of things a more powerful device might help and lots of good advice here if you have questions for that....but good luck with it

Hey, did you find e juice you like?
A few weeks ago I picked up a Smok Nord pod for traveling light. Ive been using VV (variable voltage) mods, Squonk, RBA tanks... for years. Also make my juice, coils, etc..
With that said, I like the Smok Nord, it satisfies my needs when a big mod isn’t desired. If you haven’t tried it, it’s not bad, reasonably priced and refillable.
