If you're like me, you go for the absolute SMALLEST mods you could find that meet your wattage, battery capacity, and price needs. IMO eleaf has done a great job at doing this. The istick 40w for a single 18650, and the istick 50w for dual 18650. Keeping in mind these mods have been around for a while now...There's newer stuff like the IPV D3 which is 80watts (single 18650) and the Kanger KBox 70w (dual 18650). Both very minimal/small in design, and have awesome prices.

And then the 26650 comes in. I know there's a few out there, but the ones I've seen are a bit overpriced and still a bit too tall (90mm+). A 26650 is the same height as an 18650 so ~80mm is ideal. Im not sure if one already exists but the closest mod I've seen is the Flawless 100w, but its overpriced, a bit too fat, and not getting the best reviews. The Vaporflask Stout has a great design and is built well, but its a bit tall and overpriced.

My ideal mod would be around the same size as a iStick40w but slightly fatter to compensate for a fatter (26650) battery, and around $40. And for the designers, keep in mind that not everyone wants huge 200watt mods. Not even RipTripper vapes past 65 watts and hes a vape nut...so..keep it small and pocket friendly! Also, please make em for 22mm attys!!

eLeaf...make it happen!

Yeah, the Sigelei 90w+ has a nice price (~$45) but it's one of the taller 26650 mods. ~90mm :(

A big turnoff about the Flawless is that it's 24mm where the atty sits...WHY?! It makes it look so fat... The Stout has an optimal width (22 to 30mm), but the depth and height could use some trimming...if it lost 7-10mm off the top and sides, I would probably buy it. The Boxer Mod is $200 and way too fat @ 81x52x30mm...Hell to the no.

In conclusion, it seems like none of these 26650 mods can beat a Kanger Kbox 70w in terms of size and price.

An ideal 26650 mod imo would be ~78x40x30mm and go down to 22mm where the atty sits.....But even then, the total volume would be very close to a Kbox70. Also, because the KBox is 22m all across, it's more pocket friendly.

For a bit less money than the Boxer you might be able to get a Dani #6. The VF "Stout" also comes to mind.

Sadly, not all 26650's are 650mm tall. It seems that some are longer than others. Buyer beware.

26650 means 26mm diameter and 650mm tall.
If its longer than 650mm, its not a 26650

While I'd agree the reality is that some are longer than others. I have a purple Efest that is visibly longer than my "Boxer" or Basen 26650's and now won't use it in my Boxer as it crushes the battery terminals so bad I had to bend them back with pliers so it would work with the shorter batteries!

With all the measurements Mooch did on the 26650's there are a number of them that are to long to work will in the VF-Stout and some that would work well.

(just imagine the old "accepts FLAT top batteries vs Button top" sizing differences in the smaller batteries and you get the idea)

There's considerable variance between batteries that are labelled 26650s. I agree that they shouldn't be called 26650 if they aren't 65 mm tall, but the fact of the matter is that they are. There's variance in 18650s as well, with e.g. the Panasonic pf being taller than the LG hg2. The difference isn't major there though, not as with 26650s.

Actually a 26650 is 26mm diamater and 65mm tall.... I could never understand why they placed the 0 at the end of the battery # if it is never used... They should've been called 1865's and 2665's... JMO!!!

Good catch. A 650 mm tall battery would make for an uncomfortable mod :D

The zero stands for "round" I think.

The Boxer 26650 has worked its way into the top of my rotation. Small, very light and battery life similar to dual 18650 mods. It fits in the hand so well its hard to imagine that huge 26650 is in there.

My single 18650 mods will get an overnight charge and then sit on the charger while at work. The really DO need to be recharged when I go to bed at night. However with a 26650 I can go a few days between charges. The Boxer has USB charging so I just plug it in at my desk at work. Its charged up and ready to go a few days after a shift of charging.

I've been looking at the "VF Stout" as a possible next addition to my 26650 family.
