Should my coil go up in Ohms? And why?

You're using them in regulated devices - there shouldn't be any material difference except time between needing a recharge (more mah = more capacity/life).

This, of course, is assuming that both have amp ratings suitable for vaping. The DNA box, for instance, requires a higher amp battery than the provari. Check manufacturer battery spec notes to make sure.

Thanks for all the good info! One last Noobie question. It doesn't necessarily hurt anything when my resistances get higher, it just means more voltage is needed to get a certain power output right?

Correct. The same amount of power (watts) are still being made after you adjust, so as long as your device can supply the higher voltage, not much has changed.

Of course it works with Kanthal. All you're doing is burning off the gunk, which resistance wire can do (otherwise how would it vape?).

So yes, the way your friend is saying they can use the same coil for 6 weeks is because he is probably dry firing the coil and burning off gunk. Basically take the whole thing apart, clean it, remove the wick etc. and then just attach the kayfun base on your mod and dry fire the coil by itself. It will burn off any gunk on the coil, when you see it glow red its done. Then quickly after it glows red take it off your mod and give it a rinse. You want to rinse it anyway after dry firing the coil, but rinsing will help any remaining gunk slide off. I've literally used the same coil for 2 months doing this, resistance never changed. I only change the coils when I feel like trying something different.

As a side note, if you notice you get A LOT of dark gunk on your coil quickly and the resistance goes up that quickly, you may want to check your wicking. This is just my experience, and I know everyone has their own ideas on this, but personally I find that when a certain juice or wick setup doesn't saturate the coil as wet then my coil gunks up much quicker. Of course I can tell just by taste, I know when a coil is not nice and saturated, and then I can see my coil with gunk and the wick with slight burning around the coil. Thats no bueno, you don't want to be burning wick. When I use a thin juice that wicks perfectly in a kayfun, my wick is spotless and get very little gunk on the coil.

After about a week, sometimes a few days, my coil will go up in resistance from about 1.7 ohms to 2.0-2.1 ohms. Is this normal, should I change it? Why does this happen. I'm using a Kayfun lite plus v2. Thanks!

It should go up a little bit over time due to the accumulation of residue, but usually it takes a few weeks to do it. Some thicker or sweeter juices will gunk up coils faster. If your resistance is going up by that much after only a few days then what might be happening is that the expansion of the coils is causing the positive / negative connection screws to come loose. The way to prevent this from happening is to make sure you wrap the wires around the screws in the same direction that the screws tighten (clockwise). This way, when the coil heats up, it will expand and this will tighten the screws instead of loosening them. Right now, you may need to open up your Kayfun to make sure all the screws are tightened down.

Yup, they will go up in resistance over time and with use. It's because of a combination of the prolonged heat of operation and buildup/oxidation.
its funny because I have heard many times that increasing resistance is normal in a coil, but with my particular coils in my rta"s, they barely increase by .1 ever. I have had coils in my tanks for weeks and weeks and never, not even once has one increased more then .1. I wonder why? the op's coil has increased by .4 so maybe there are other factors involved. maybe people that use silica wicks see more of an increase? maybe because when the dry burn their coils don't get cleaned as much? or maybe darker juices effect the coil more? I rarely vape dark juices so that's one possibility?
