Hi ECF, long time reader, first time poster…Recently I developed a weird rough patch inside my cheek, only on the left side of my mouth. Felt odd when touched with my tongue, a tad sensitive but didn't hurt or bleed. Skipping to the end, I decided it might be vape related, so I quit for 24 hours, and the patch basically went away.
A little googling found some reports of PG contact allergies in mouth, and the first solution is to switch to pure VG liquid.
Background: After vaping standard (i.e. not the new "high VG" version) Halo Turkish Tobacco at 6mg-18mg nicotine for about 3 years, (without any similar problem) I recently started mixing my own liquid, which seems like the likely cause. My current DIY juice is a mix of two bottles from Nude Nicotine, probably averaging about 9mg nicotine and 60% PG/40% VG. I'm mixing the juice with flavors from The Flavor Apprentice (most recently 5% RY4 and 5% Black Honey tobacco).
So I'm going to vape 100% VG for a while and see what happens. However, I wanted to know if anyone had a similar "rough patch" reaction to high PG liquid, or even medium PG liquid, and if VG solved it. Thanks!
