Resistance (Ohms) decreasing on it's own?

Hello all - obviously a new member here.

I've been vaping about 18 months - started with crappy Blu and other e-cigs, then moved through various eGo-style heads and batteries, and recently stepped up to a nice mod setup with an eLeaf iStick 50 watt and a Kanger AeroTank Mega. This is my first battery with a "display", so I have a question about coil resistance reading changing by itself:

I've only had this setup for a few days. When I initially attached the Kanger tank, the resistance read 2 ohms on the eLeaf display. After about 3 days of use, the reading suddenly dropped to 1.9, then it went down as far as 1.5, and now seems to have settled at 1.7 ohms.

The .1 drop initially didn't concern me. But later I cleaned the tank, refilled with new juice, and thats when it dropped to 1.7, then down to 1.5, and now back to 1.7 again....

Is this normal? I cleaned the tank and tube with water, but did NOT rinse the end cap with the coil. On that end, all I did was mop up any visible juice - and I left the coil in place. I dried the other parts well and put it all back together, filled 'er up. Vape is fine, but the changing resistance readings have me slightly concerned....

Thanks for any insights!

I agree with Susan.

Resistance of your coil may go up or down due to coil buildup, but usually not by .5Ω. Sounds more like inaccurate readings than an actual resistance change. Make sure your coil is seated properly in its base and do not over tighten your topper onto the battery--just enough to make electrical contact.

If your resistance suddenly doubles, it means that you popped one of the coils. It happens sometimes with dual coil atomizers. :)
