REO's Mods | Home of the REO PV

I've had the Reo Mini for three weeks now, and it has amazed me from the very start. It's been a compact, cleverly designed, well made mod that's enjoyable to vape.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...iews/130628-mini-reo-initial-impressions.html

I was recently given the opportunity to purchase the larger version of the Mini, the Reo Grand.* It's basically a upsized version of the mini designed to use a 6ml juice bottle and 18650 battery versus the 3ml and 14500 on its baby brother. And like its pint sized sibling, the Grand uses a native 510 connection and can use 901 attys with a simple adapter. Everything I've said about the Mini applies to the Grand, save its exceptionally small size. And it also holds the door more securely in place with two magnets instead of one.

Despite the fact that I own a Mini, I don't regret the purchase of the Grand. Not for a second. For starters, the 18650 battery will last even a nicotine addicted vape monkey like me through a whole day. Not an easy task for any mod. The same goes for the juice bottle. I can confidently throw the mini itself in my shirt or jacket pocket in the morning and know that my vaping needs for the day are taken care of, atty failure notwithstanding. Vaping is now as easy and uncomplicated as smoking....it's about :censored: time. The Grand, unlike the mini, can easily accommodate two cr123a's for HV vaping. The performance of the lr510 with a 18650 pushing current to it makes this unnecessary, IMHO, but it's always nice to have other options.

I can use the Grand with my favorite batteries, AW IMR (high drain) 18650's. When coupled with the lr510 attys, they help the Grand to effortlessly put out tons of rich, tasty vape. While this can also be done with the Mini and its smaller batteries, it somehow requires a bit more effort to do so. The Grand hits like a freakin' freight train for me every time I push the button. This may make it a bit easier to pop a low resistance atty on the Grand, but it's worth it; especially with deals on these attys at five bucks or less.

Like the Mini, the Grand can use VG natively and PG and thinner juices with a reducer tube that fits onto the tip of the inlet tube inside the bottle to prevent flooding. But unless you're a PG fanatic or have issues with VG, stick with straight VG or a VG heavy mix. These juices reduce the learning curve of both mods to the point where an inexperienced or even new vaper can get the hang of them in almost no time at all.

The comparisons to the Mini may leave a prospective purchaser wondering which model to buy. In my opinion, it's largely a matter of personal preference as to the size of the mod. My wife thinks the Grand is a bit too big for her to carry around, but my Mini has somehow magically found its way into her purse. Since you can easily tote a couple of spare 14500's and 3oz juice bottles, either one can be a valid choice.

Considering everything that this mod has to offer, the price of $134.80 shipped makes it a bargain. So much of a bargain that they're incredibly hard to get. The first run of 100 units sold out in less than twenty minutes. They will probably get even harder to purchase as word of it gets out to the vaping community in general. Truth be told, the Grand is probably undervalued at this price. I'm fully expecting to see something happen similar to the Carlos Juice Box phenomenon, where early purchasers of that mod were able to sell them on the ECF classifieds for twice their original asking price. And before you ask, mine is NOT for sale.

Granted, I'm only a day into this mod, and it generally takes me a couple of weeks or a month to find any flaws or shortcomings with a new vape. But I'm absolutely impressed with Redeyedancer's latest offering. This just may be the best mod I've ever tried.

*Why on Earth he didn't name this the 'Reo Grande' is beyond me. Geez, danged Yankees.....

Nice review. Thanks. I snagged a Mini tonight, and feel very fortunate and extremely lucky to have gotten it. I have two GrandEs coming. One is a gold/black door just like your.

I figure these will be loved all the same, just like we love our children all the same. I don't imagine I'll be using my other mods much at all when they all get here. The Reo's make vaping so simple, no mess, no fuss. One person has named hers Lolly for Lollygag, as it is so laid back requiring no fuss.

I'm going to have to give each it's own special alone time with lots of carrassing before I name them.

So excited.

I just happened to be on a thread, not related to Reo, where someone mentioned s/he might be selling. I jumped on it really fast and made an offer via PM. Luck, I think. Includes batteries, accessories included when new, and batt charger. I declined the charger as I have four already. It's in the mail and I have tracking number. Should be here Monday. I offered a little above base price for all, but not too much more. It was worth it to me to avoid the stress and time of attempting to get one and for person to get it in the mail this morning. No wait; no fuss.

Nice review. I have 4 REOs - 1 wood REO, 2 REO Minis, and the Grand, which I just received. I'm not sure why, perhaps the battery, but the Grand performs better than the Minis - more vapor, better flavor, and a heavier TH. I still use and enjoy the Minis - great PVs, but the Grand is in a class by itself.

I am waiting for my Grand to arrive, somewhat patiently, because I have a Reo Mini. I love my Reo Mini; however, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to get the Grand due to the 18650 battery and larger juice bottle. I think I shall love them both equally. For quick trips out, the Mini will be perfect; but when I need to be sure I have all day vapeability (new word, my making), the Grand will go traveling with me. My quality of life and vaping improved significantly as soon as my Mini arrived. Thanks for the great review, clyde.

To answer people's questions about how to get one of the Reos, there are a couple of threads (one discussion and the other more dedicated to info and updates about availability) in the Suppliers' Forum. They are often at the top. Robert announces in these threads a few days before a release the day and time that it will occur. Until that time, they will show as out of stock because he will not take people's money for anything like a preorder. He accepts purchase when he has the actual stock sitting there ready to ship out to folks. You will want to already be on his site reosmods.com a little before the time and keep refreshing the page. When it goes active, just buy the color combo you want. As clyde said, the first batch of 100 or more sold out in 20 minutes, so you need to know what you want color-wise before purchase time. I hope this helps those of you who want Reos.

Someone asked the rhetorical question of whether to get the Reo Mini or Grand. I can't imagine not getting both. They fill different niches in the vaping world of any serious vaper. I cannot imagine anyone not loving it; but if anyone doesn't, please know that many of us would jump at the chance to purchase an additional one and many people still looking to score their first one.
