So I have a reuleaux gen3 300w mod. I have been very happy with it. I get a couple of days out of it as it is a three-cell mod. I usually Vape between 60 and 70 w. I use both rdas and tanks. Just recently I have noticed the batteries discharging at a different rate. I know this mod has some protection so the battery is discharged equally. However for the first time one of the batteries is discharged completely before the other two. I am wondering if the firmware upgrade will help with this. I'm a little nervous about it as I have heard that's some mods after the upgrade have just not been the same. Does anybody recommend the upgrade? And what can I expect from it if I do upgrade? The mods about 6 months old and has served well and I like it very much I just want to keep its performance the best that I can be. Thank you for your time May the force be with you.

I suggest upgrade to the ArcticFox firmware.... better than stock firmware.
100% agreed. I installed ArcticFox on my Gen3 and it's been much better than the stock firmware. Try it out and see what you think.

I looks great and I assume it works well since you installed and use it. But here is my concern I have heard that sometimes upgrading actually can cause the mod to be wonky. Also heard stories of not being able to restore the factory settings after such an upgrade. Are you or anyone aware of this or am I just concerned about nothing really. I really like this mod and the performance now is not bad I would be really disappointed if it stopped working as well as it does now. Thank you

I haven't heard of any issues, personally. They have a pretty active forum you could check out for more info - NFE Team

I suggest you at least download the update... and any old versions you can find.... use a loafer like the NFE TEAM one so you can reverse the update if you don't l Ike it.

As WITH ALL TECH Updates sometime they are not great or better than older versions.

Of course. Bouggt
You've more than likely been vaping way longer than me. I once had a drunk moment and installed a new battery and a slightly older battery and the discharge were different. Are your batteries the same age? Just seems it would be important in a 3 battery setup
Yeah new batts with mod purchase. Seems uneven discharge might be isolated incident as I have not had it happen again to that degree. Still interested in firmware upgrede though. Improved performance?

You didn't mention how you are charging the cells. I highly recommend that you charge them externally, in a dedicated charger, one of a vaper's best friends. Stick with a name brand such as Nitecore, XTAR or Efest. I don't trust Efest's batts but their chargers are good. You don't have to spend a fortune. Something like this 4 bay XTAR VC4 goes for $15.

XTAR VC4 4 Bay LCD Battery Charger - 18650 Battery Store

The better chargers will also do a full discharge reconditioning of batts and also measure usable Ah.

Good luck!
