To oxidize means to combine an element with Oxygen. Or to create an Oxide.
An Oxide is any element/s radicals combined with Oxygen. Eg: H2O (Hydrogen Oxide)
Anodized means to coat with an oxide, which protects or decorates, so technically they are both correct. Being anodized is how they come in different colors.
Oxidized aluminum won't corrode, interestingly enough the oxidation protects the aluminum.
Corrosion resistance can be excellent due to a thin surface layer of aluminium oxide that forms when the metal is exposed to air, effectively preventing further oxidation.
