If there is a better place for this thread please let me know so I can move it. I figured that this was too much of a noob question for the rebuildable forum.
I go through a lot of coils. I had been looking at getting into coil building to circumvent that issue. A few months ago I picked up a pair of devices that came with the Big Baby Beast because I had read that it had a rebuildable atomizer you could get for it. I figured that this was a good way to go.
Last week I placed an order on ebay for the coilmaster kit, some cotton bacon, and the RBA head for my big baby beast. I figured I'd keep one tank set up for RBA and the other for drop ins.
Yesterday the last part of the order arrived at my house and I quickly realized two things.
1: The spare piece of glass that came with one of my mods was NOT the larger piece needed to convert the BBB to RBA mode.
2: After inspecting my RBA I realized that it is a counterfeit device. There's no scratch off whatsoever. The device also seems really chintzy too, but as it is my first RBA (I've never even seen one IRL before this) I don't have anything to compare it to. Googling pictures of the RBA seems to indicate that they don't look quite the same either.
I contacted the seller and their offer is to refund half of my money and let me keep the unit. That doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I am worried that the device could be dangerous. What if they used substandard metals in the device? I have NO idea what I'm getting into. Plus in order for me to make this work I'll have to find and pay for an extra glass piece to adapt the coil. I'm just frustrated and I don't know what I should do.
Part of me wants to just wait until I get paid again and buy a different RBA. The Cloud Beast and Cloud Beast King both come with rebuildable decks. I've seen some other sub ohm style tanks with the RBA included as well. The real reason I want to upgrade the TFV8 BBB is that I just barely got them and I don't want to stop using them already.
