1.8 ohms is definitely possible with 32ga Kanthal. As to how many wraps, that depends on if you are making a standard or micro-type coil and what size of rod you are wrapping on. I recommend getting a super-cheap digital multimeter ($15-20) if you are going to be building your own coils, as your experience will definitely differ even from build to build, and the only way to know for sure where you are at is to measure, and then add or remove a wrap at a time as needed. I might recommend that when restocking your wire, you opt for 28ga Kanthal next time. Simply put, the 28ga is much more forgiving than 32; if you add an extra 2 wraps of 28 ga, you are not as far off target as you would be with 32. You can also make longer coils at the same resistance compared to 32ga, and surface area increasing will increase your vapor and flavor, assuming resistance stays the same. That's why microcoils work.
