So I think I'm going to have my Provari refinished and I'll need to take it apart. I've watched videos on taking the board and top cap off and that seems easy enough.

What I'm wondering is does anyone know how the wires are joined to the top cap? I can't quite make it out looking in there with a light. I could take it apart and look but if someone knows it would be helpful.

I was looking at getting the top cap done to a mirror shine and I have a feeling the person doing it will want the board taken off.

You're going to disect and disassemble your Precious? Oh, my!!

I know, vaguely frightened. The thing is the black coating is already wearing off a bit on it after a few months and its slightly bothersome. I was thinking I'd have it powder coated, possibly red. But then I saw someone's work with mods on another forum and was instantly impressed. Search for vape'n'shine on Facebook or vaporwall if you're registered there. I'll be media blasting the main tube as well as some other stuff.

Just to make sure- you know taking the board out will void the warranty, right?

Luckily I have that send it to us along with X amount of dollars and we'll fix it thing. I'm pretty confident in the quality of the device and the board it's self and ill take my chances after only having it a few months.

If my black coating wasn't coming off I wouldn't be doing it so soon. It's not really bad yet, but I can notice it and its a little bothersome.

Thanks for the pic. I've asked the guy who will be doing the work if he needs the board taken off to polish the top cap. If he's cool with it being on there ill probably just wrap it in bubble wrap and electrical tape or something like that and tape right close to the base of the wires. If I can avoid disconnecting those I will.

When you go to put it all back together, make sure that you have something ready to set the board (a dab of something in the upper corners of the board to keep the board from sliding up in the channels that it sits in.). Provape uses something like hot glue or an epoxy, I have just used super glue. If you don't the board will slide up when you put a battery in and not work because the connection is loose.

Just wondering....have you considered buying a wrap for it instead? I have a black carbon fiber wrap on mine and it protects it and I think looks great. Either way the best of luck to you.

I may possibly do that as a stop gap but I think I'm pretty settled on getting it refinished. Just a matter of the 100$ at this point.
