I made a magnetic mixer from videos in youtube it works great if your mixing for personal juice. The computer fan/project box version I made can mix 100mls great. I do think it speeds up steep time a bit but I don't have to shake any juice at all. I mix a couple hours first, I don't add my nic until the mix has steeped its time then I add nic and remix slowly for a hour or so.
I have no cons what so ever about the magnetic mixer but I wont go spend all kinds of bucks on a storebought one.

Here is a video I made of my mixer mixing 100mls of Hangsen Desert Ship. I shook the bottle to add the air to add more effect of the mixing. I have since added a el cheapo volt meter to indicate a speed and waiting on some small LED diodes to add light from the base since I removed the fan blades so the mixer would spin faster I can add the lights

This one is reasonably priced and I use it for larger batches, it's not really worth it for small batches.

It works really well for me and most mixes are ready to vape once they are done. It also has heat which is got to be dialed in slowly, a little tweak of the dial goes a long way. I go 30 minutes with heat and another 30 without since the plate holds some heat. Works pretty damn well. Most of my larger batches I mix in a beaker and then stir.

I would get an orbital shaker if I were you. You can find used (although older) ones on eBay for a few hundred bucks or less.
I think a lab shaker mixes better than any other gadget you could buy. I have had excellent results with mine.

This is mine in action in slow motion......

I have a magnetic mixer I found on ebay for $40, but it doesn't vortex 100 ml of eJuice as well as AlterUrEgo’s homemade one. I let it mix overnight.

I have found this frother style paint mixer to work much better. The small disk even fits into my 15ml small batch dropper bottles so it is convenient to stir while the juice is packaged & steeping.

I got mine for $40 off ebay as well, but i can get a good vortex action going on 120ml.What pg/vg ratio are you using, what are you mixing in,and what size stir bar?I make my juice at 40pg/60vg in a glass flask beaker, with a 1"-1.5" stir bar,and it will start out fairly slow, but as the spinning action warms the juice just a little,it will start to spin faster. After about an hour,it has a nice votex going.

I use a 20mm stirbar the most. I just got a couple 25mm bars and they what looks to me to mix the same as the 20's. I also have a couple bars with a rib in the middle and it has to be used in a beaker that has a perfectly flat bottom. The jars all have some sort of concave on the bottom that throws the ribbed bar off kilter. I have a 10mm bar that I can mix in 10-20ml jugs. a 15mm bar that mixes 30-50 in the jug but the 20 and now the 25 are my mixing favs for my 100ml mixes.
I don't get a vortex unless I really heat up the VG and once it begins to cool the vortex disappears but it still mixes really well and I get what I think are great juices as a result.
If I do leave the room while mixing I cut a round piece of shelf liner to hold the jar in place incase the stirbar gets thrown, over-spins the fan and vibrates the jar off the mixer.. done that already, 100mls of juice on the floor qualifies to shed a tear. :)
I should add my juices are 60vg/40pg with 12 nic

Yeah,i have a few of those bars with the rib,a few of my beakers have the flat bottom, and others have that concave.I usually forget to look, and end up fishing that bar back out to replace with a regular one haha.I've almost lost a 120ml due to the bar getting thrown off to the side, luckily i was standing there when it happened, otherwise, yeah it would have been a sad sad day haha.

I'm usually mixing 70pg/30vg and have a 7 piece set of stir bars from tiny to 30mm x8. The vortex fades around 50ml in a 50 ml beaker. (The beaker could hold more, but the graduations only go to 50).

I think I'll try a larger beaker to get a shallower juice level.

edit: Yea, flat bottom beakers & ribbed bars.

Yeah, the shallower level does seem to help.I mix my 120ml batches in either a 150ml or 500ml beaker and it definitely gets a better vortex in the 500ml.
