My Aspire nautilus Mini needed a new coil, or so I thought. When I installed a new BVC coil, it did not work, and this is what I discovered: when the coil is screwed in to the bottom hardware it doesn't go deep enough - now the coil won't reach the center electrode on the battery. It is so far off that it's not even close! I already tossed the old coil but these new ones match the pictures in the manual, except the one that shows the center pin being flush with the screw portion that connects with the battery - right where is is supposed to be. This does NOT compute! What am I doing wrong?

Different coils for the mini and full sized?
The Mini and standard size use the same BVC heads.
When you removed the old coil did it leave an oring behind?
yes there was, and I removed it. The obvious problem is that the hole in the bottom of cartridge is too small (or pin on coil is too big) for it to reach the battery.
Why did you remove the o-ring? It was there for a reason. Did you put the o-ring back with the new coil?

It's possible that you cross-threaded the new coil preventing it from screwing all the way down.

Nope, it screws in and out easily. In as far as it will go. The electrode end is too short AND too wide.

If you paid full price for authentic, don't. My favorite sellers don't carry them anymore, but here is a listing and they have both high sales and VERY high satisfaction rating.

New For Aspire Nautilus Tank 5ml/Mini Tank 2ml Adjustable Airflow with BVC Coils | eBay

These are clones, and at least with their listing they state unbranded (I hate when they try to mislead as authentic). But I have had fantastic luck with the clones and they are dirt cheap and free shipping. I buy extras because with the free shipping they end up being a lot cheaper then if you ever needed to just buy a part.

As far as your problem, can you post a pic of the coil (not installed) and the view of the bottom part of the tank where the coil screws in (with no coil screwed in).

Kind of like this....

Not the problem. It screws in and out easily. Pin is too short and/or too wide.

Can you compare, side by side, the old coil with the new coil? Are they exactly the same?

I'm beginning to think you have either a defective coil, or the wrong coils, for your tank.

I see there is a metal pin that, according to what I see and have read, may be spring-loaded. That piece missing would explain why it isn't contacting the center pin of battery.

Why can i see all the way through the bottom hardware? That doesn't look right at all. Is the 510 connector missing?
Good observation! Is the tank's 510 connector still connected to the mod's 510 connector? It could have stayed on the mod when he unscrewed the tank from the mod.

You're missing a few parts from the bottom of the tank, the pin to the battery (Center Pin Cap Spring & Rubber Insulated Contact Connector), I also think it has an inner spring and pin. Not really sure how you lost that. And I do not believe you can even buy the inner parts for the mini.

Ah, use that link I gave above, the mini tank is under $10, it's cheaper than trying to buy the authentic parts.

How did that happen???? I am confused.....

Yeah, somehow a WHOLE BUNCH of stuff went missing, there, somewhere. You mentioned a coil ring being left behind, I think somehow inadvertently (and if it came with a coil installed well goodness only knows... Do you think you could have disassembled everything? Could the coil have lifted out everything somehow?

I would be poking through my trash right now for bits to try and figure out what Happened out of sheer frustration!

I think your fix is going to be your new nautilus and watching a few youtube videos on nautilus 101 coil assembly and removal not that I necessarily think this is your FAULT necessarily but I would be wondering HOW on earth it happened and want to be sure it never happens again.

Yeah, start looking for small metal chunks.... Is this your first coil assembly disassembly?

Oh I've been mystified by plenty in my vaping life... Did you drop it at any point?

If the answers to the above are all no and it's your first coil change and etc., I think you might be due a warranty if this was NOT user error, etc.
