I was told by someone today that because i ordered a 70pg/30vg mix that it will leave a oily taste in my mouth because of vg being made of veggie oil. I have not gotten my kit yet (praying its here tomorrow). Now granted this was coming from a tececig kiosk at the mall ( who I thought was crazy anyway) but am wondering other people's views on what's the best mix and why?

Hi! vg is vegetable glycerin, not vegetable oil. And while both pg and vg are viscous, vg is more so. A 70pg/30vg ratio is pretty thin; that's what I use for a lot of my juices.

ETA: There's nothing wrong with Chinese juices if you like the taste. The reason I don't buy them is because they usually don't come with options like extra sweet.

I unfortunately am still waiting for my hardware to arrive but being new I figured the 70/30 sounded like a good place to start from what I had learned lurking around on the forum. After he made that comment it worried me a lil since I have not gotten to experience much besides a few disposables while waiting. This is a joint venture between me and a very close friend. I told her that if we find it oily we could change the mix. Beings how we are both new I figured I would see what everyone else's views are so if we find something off we know whether to try different pg/vg ratios or different brand of juice :0). It's so customizable I love this. Just wish my hardware would hurry the wait is killing me :0)

Lol! Welcome to the wonderful world of stalking the mailman. It's a known fact that when you start vaping your hearing will improve to the point that you can hear the mail truck stop two streets over...

Here's a quick link on pg/vp: PG and VG: Throat Hit, Vapor, and Consistency

I think you made a good choice with the 70/30 mix. My first order came with 90/10 juice and it had so much TH i couldn't even inhale it without picking my lungs off the floor. This after being a pack a day smoker for 15 years. I have switched to 60/40 and i like that much better but there isn't much TH which seems to work fine for me. It does leave a little bit of an after taste in my mouth but its not near as bad as the aftertaste of a analog. Plus you should be drinking water while vaping anyways.

I am already a pro. I have my mailmans route memorized by where he will be at what time. Thank god my dad knows him or might have had stalking charges pressed at one time :0).

I know nothing wrong with the ones from china I guess I should have added his comment on that. He was knocking the stuff from the USA saying its not FDA regulated so its all basement brew. I informed him everyone I ordered from used FDA grade stuff and was forward about everything in it even the very minute :0)

He thinks Chinese liquid is regulated by the FDA?

Thats funny, sounds like a pusher for sure. Im a pure VG vaper because the PG causes a pretty nasty reaction, instant lung pain like getting kicked in the chest by a horse, dryness, lots of phlegm like mucus next morning, headaches and if it gets in my eyes, oh wow does it dry them out harsh and stings. PG is the same stuff used in many things like fog machines for example. Some people are allergic to some degree.

Pg is also used in dry eye lubricants and as a solvent to make drugs like Diazepam (which isn't soluble in water) liquid for IV use. And vg is the main ingredient in many laxatives. I'm thinking that if you can put something in your eyes, in your veins or up your ... I wouldn't worry about inhaling it, unless you have an allergic reaction.

I Vape 100% VG and never had an oily residue in my mouth... just pure vaping goodness and monster plumes. :D

I vape 10/90 pg/vg most of the time and also use 100 vg juices. For me its a personal preference, I have no evidence to support it but I just feel VG is healthier for me than Pg. I do know thats its a smoother taste and nowhere near as harsh.

Like the posters above Ive never noticed an oily residue from vaping even unflavored VG.
