Morning everyone,

Just wanted to share a great DIY find. My syringes were beginning to fail and I went on the hunt for more. The local CVS used to carry and sell 10ml luer locks without needles. It had been quite some time, but figured I'd give them a try. Nope... but they were far less rude than Walgreens, who treated me like I shouldn't even be there in the first place.

Anyway, enough of my rant and on to useful info. I went online and searched Amazon and eBay, finding these at the latter:

Very pleased to say the least! Two of them for $13.00 with free shipping. They are Gov't surplus from the 50's or 60's. Completely glass (pyrex type) with no rubber on the plunger to break down or freeze up. Standard luer needles fit beautifully and the markings should hold up quite well since they were made to handle an autoclave.

Just a great find I wanted to share with everyone. Happy vaping all! Now if only my darn flavorings would get here...

I saw these on ebay in a 3ml size and was pondering if I should get them. Keep us posted how well they last. Could be a good alternitive to my last order.

I settled for a box of 100 3ml standard luer lock syringes for $14.00 and free shipping which is the size I use the most (Use to fill clearos and add flavor to large batches).

Also got 3 30ml standard from the same vender for 3.00 and 10 1ml for about the same price and free shipping.

The glass on glass contact seals quite well. The syringe barrel is smooth, while the plunger has somewhat of a frosted finish. The fit is perfect and it glides smooth as silk. My guess is the fluid itself helps create a seal. Until recently, I had a soxhlet extractor that had connections similar to the makeup of this. Glass to glass connections are quit common on labware. Before we became a "disposables" society, this was the standard for all syringes for almost 100 years.

How does the plunger seal without rubber?

My concern was grinding or scoring of the glass or any ware in the glass from constant use may cause binding of the plunger. I can understand the fluid contained within would act as a lubricant but for those times after cleaning, the plunger is drawn up on a dry cylinder may cause damage to the cylinder.

I buy mine from here, never going back to disposable. Great quality and lots of sizes to choose from, we'll worth the price. I dropped one on my tile floor and it survived, plunger was in too.

same here the tip has a metal protector built in and they are numbered so when you get to washing 3-4 at a time plunger #345 only fits #345 syringe

got mine from Northern Technologies too. really like them and they work perfectly. I have a 1 2 and 5 ml. the OP deal sounds even better since I paid $10 - $12 each for mine.

side note: I keep a cup of distilled water on my table when mixing. If I think I need to rinse the syringe between flavors I flush it with the distilled water. works for me.
