OXVA Nexlim

OXVA Nexlim, the newly released POD device by OXVA. In this case, we're looking at a device with a 1500mAh battery, perfect for those who vape nicotine salts at low wattage. On the other hand, it uses new cartridges that adopt Unitech 2.0 technology, which promises to be leakproof, produce more vapor, and be more consistent in flavor.

Before starting, I'd like to thank Vapeo24 for making this review possible. You can visit their website and learn more about the Nexlim.

In the upper left corner, we are shown the color of the device, in this case, it's the Black Warrior, which we will highlight later. On the other hand, the capacity of the cartridges is presented. Due to TPD legislation in Europe, this specific edition has a volume of 2mL. However, it is possible to acquire 4mL cartridges, which will mean we won't have to refill it as often.

In the upper central part, we find some branding, where the brand and model of the product are indicated. Finally, in the central part, we find a small transparent window through which we can see the device, something I love in packaging. Furthermore, it indicates that it will provide us with double flavor and double coil lifespan, as I mentioned in the introduction.

On the back, we find the usual. The box contents, some contact addresses, a barcode, a scratch-off to verify the authenticity of the product, a QR code, the batch date, some logos, and of course, a nicotine warning.

In the box;
1* Nexlim Device
1* Nexlim Cartridge 0.6Ω
1* Nexlim Cartridge 0.8Ω
1* Type-C Cable
1* User Manual

As I always do, I appreciate that brands include more than one cartridge to be able to have two different experiences, although I admit that I would have liked to see a cartridge with a higher resistance than 0.8Ω.

Once we open the box, we can see the device in a custom-made slot. What caught my attention the most, and I wasn't expecting at all, is this kind of information sheet that is attached to the box. I honestly think it's great that it comes so clearly explained, as it makes it very easy for those who are new.

Device Inspection

Here I show you the device itself. First of all, let's talk about the materials. It presents practically no plastic, only in the cartridge area, where we find PCTG as is usually the case in these devices. However, OXVA has opted for a zinc alloy on one side and aluminum on the other. I honestly think this is great; it's much appreciated that they take care of the materials used, and I'm sure it will be a durable device. These materials make it feel relatively heavy in the hand, although not excessively so. It's clear that we can't take a hands-free puff like with the Argus G2 Mini, for example, but this is just an observation.

Let's now talk about the color of this specific edition. As you can see, the device is black and has a carbon fiber vinyl insert. At the bottom, we find the OXVA branding.

From this angle, we can see the 0.85" screen and, on the other side, the air intake on the right. This air intake, adjustable obviously, is composed of a single orifice that gradually closes. The airflow adjustment is really good; it's clear that this is a device generally focused on people who vape MTL, although it's very satisfying to use it in RDL. It is true that, in my opinion, it's difficult to find the sweet spot if you want an MTL vape, as sometimes you close it too much or sometimes not enough, so it's difficult to get it right the first time. Regarding leaking through this orifice or things like that, after using it for a few days and leaving it practically abandoned for others, this area is completely dry, although I have found some drops of liquid in the POD-battery connection area, but nothing alarming, a little paper and it's dry.

The shape of the screen is really striking; as we can see, it's a circle; however, what the screen itself is not that shape, but rather square, you will be able to observe this later.

On the other side, we find the button. It has a really short travel and a very satisfying click, although this is subject to subjective opinion, since I know people who hate the clicky sound.

Due to the simplicity and clear explanation that OXVA provides about the device's functions (you can see it in the packaging section, although I suppose if you've gotten this far you will have already seen it), I'm not going to dwell much on this aspect. However, I do want to clarify several things.

On the one hand, the choice of themes. We have three of them available with three different animations for each one. I will show the most basic one in the following image. Another one is based on something more robotic and futuristic, to describe it in some way. The last and best in my opinion is practically a smiling emoji. Each theme has an animation for the puff, another for turning it off, and another for when it runs out of battery, so it's really complete. However, I must say that each theme displays slightly different information, which I will explain quickly here with a table;

On the other hand, when changing the mode, we distinguish between ECO and BOOST, although I must say that I don't notice a big difference.

Finally, I'm showing you the back of the device, which, in my opinion, is completely ruined by that "Vaping Reimagined". I feel that it's completely unnecessary and that it would be much more aesthetically pleasing without it.

Vaping Time
The time has come to test this device, and to try to compare it with another, I had an Xros Pro on hand with a 0.8 Ω cartridge, with the same liquid and same power as the Nexlim.

0.6 Ω Cartridge: This cartridge is recommended for a power range between 20-40W and is clearly focused on those looking for an RDL experience, therefore, I tested it with the airflow fully open. I must say that I expected an extreme flavor hit according to what I've heard about these coils, and it's really not bad, but it doesn't quite reach what other people describe (of course, this is subjective and depends on the liquid used). Overall, it's a good coil, and it's clear that its lifespan seems to be long. Vapor production is very good, and the only thing I found after leaving it unused for a few days was some drops of liquid at the bottom of the cartridge, nothing to worry about and quite normal if we don't use it.

0.8 Ω Cartridge: For this coil, more focused on MTL, I closed the airflow halfway or even sometimes a little more. The flavor is really good, but comparing it to the Xros Pro, I noticed a difference. The liquid used is a USA Mix, which combines tobacco with some honey and perhaps caramel. In the Xros, the sweet notes of honey and caramel are completely distinguishable; however, in the Nexlim, I can't distinguish them; it's as if they've been lost quite a bit. The tobacco flavor was present in both devices, but the Xros accentuates the sweet notes more. Otherwise, it's a good cartridge for those looking for a tighter draw and want to use nicotine salts.

Regarding the charging port, I must mention that OXVA has implemented 5V/2A fast charging, which is much appreciated.

On the other hand, one observation is that the Nexlim accepts the cartridges of its predecessors, that is, from the Xlim range that OXVA released some time ago.

I can't say much more in this part of the review; the flavor is quite good, although I would appreciate that accentuation in the sweet notes, which, for some reason, is lost quite a bit.

Conclusion
Basically, the OXVA Nexlim is clearly designed with good materials in mind, geared towards beginners or those wanting something portable, comfortable, and small. However, I think it could be better, particularly in terms of flavor, which is its only slight drawback. To sum up, the Nexlim has impressed me in some areas, but the comparison turned out to be more critical than I expected. Even so, it's definitely not a bad device, and it's certainly worth considering.
