Ovale Ego-C Twist not firing but reads 4.8 volts on multimeter

Hey, I'm Garrett. Stopped smoking about 2-3 months ago, and am loving the vape life.. Anyways I am having some issues.
I have a buddy that works at a vape shop, and told me about how they have a battery recycling bin for broken battery's. I grabbed a battery out of the bin (ovale ego-c twist 1000mah) that looked brand new, not a scratch. I have done every test possible, but cannot get it firing. I have taken it apart and resoldered every visible connection on the main board. Checked voltage which is accurate with the twist feature (4.8 volts on the 4.8 setting) And even tried pulling up on the firing pin. EVERYTHING works. The battery charges, it puts off voltage, but it won't fire? I have even tried taking just the atomizer itself and touching positive on the firing pin, and touching the side of the atomizer on the side of where you would screw a tank on. It fired like that on another ego twist I purchased from the same place. What am I missing. I am pretty well versed with electronics, but I am hoping there is a veteran with electronics here that can maybe help me??

Perhaps the center pin of the battery is not making a connection with the atomizer of the clearomizer/tank. This usually occurs from over-tightening the tank onto the battery connector. Just make sure that if you use something conductive (metal) to pry up on the center pin that you do NOT hit the fire button while you are working on the battery. Or better yet, turn off the battery.

If this works but you continue to have problems, buy a few spacers from MadVapes. They solve all connectivity problems. Just drop one into the 510 well of your battery and you're good to go! You can thank ECF member GinnyTx for this little tidbit!:)

I guarantee you will get the same answers. It comes down to troubleshooting. If it fires and readable with a multimeter, it's firing with your atty connected. You aren't making contact somewhere in the mix. Like I said in your other thread and as Susan has mentioned. the only thing it can be is the button not making contact with the atty. It will let you know if there is a short somewhere, which it can't be as you've said the light is normal when a tank is connected.
