You could get the same effect by placing several drops under your tongue (goes into the bloodstream that way). Oregano oil is so strong, you'll be breathing in the fumes for the next half hour. I should know, because I do it every night before bed time for oral health. Haven't heard about it clearing out tar in the lungs however, but when it enters the bloodstream (via under the tongue), it will eventually reach the aveoli bronchial sacs where the tar is located from smoking. If it does anything, that's where it should begin, the bloodstream/capilaries, not inhaled through an atomizer.

Just my opinion.

I use Oil of Oregano from time to time. Never thought about vaping it, though. Also use grapefruit seed extract from time to time as well. Never thought of vaping that either. If anyone is thinking about getting some Oil of Oregano, read the link above, as you just can't buy it at the grocery store, as it's not the same stuff.

Well, here in the Philippines, we use oregano extract (you boil some leaves with a little water, juice them, then drink the liquid) to cure coughs. Worked all the time for me when I was a kid, and I still use it every now and then. So I guess it does have an effect on the lungs and other respiratory stuff. People in our place actually almost used it solely for that medicinal purpose, that I was surprised to find out later that it is used in cooking.

A better idea would be to put a pot of water on to boil then add some drops to it. Turn it down just a little, place a towel over your head and then put your face over the steam and slowly breathe it in. Not so close that the steam burns your face though.

Never tried it with Oregano Oil myself but when I am congested just plain old steam works great :)
