ordered first mod and want to use 18350 battery

now that i ordered my first setup which is a mech mod and a kraken clone as well as a ohms meter
i would like to use a smaller 18350 battery if possible, but after reading a few articles the highest a 18350 battery went was about 6amps. is this safe? how low of an ohm can i go on it?
when going through some youtube videos there are alot of different wick tutorials but no one explain what how to raise or lower ohms. im assunming it has to do with the amount of turns/coils for given wire material (i bought 30ga kantal).

i have 2mm and 3mm silica on the way, i want to try the ss rope with silica sleeve method i saw....looks very fast and easy
can i go straight silica as well? thanks

A mech mod just isn't a good place for a beginner start with vaping. You really need to learn more a lot more about batteries, ohms law, coils and the dangers associated with batteries and mechs. At least you have a meter, that's a start and shows you are willing to learn. I'm sure you will get a few more opinions about it.

I would go no lower than 1 ohm... That would draw 4.2amps and leave a little room for error... But as said earlier 1.5 and youre good

.7 ohms puts you at 6 amps on the dot acording to vapecalc.com i wouldnt push a battery to its limit ever id prolly stay above 1ohm at lowest but safety being number one priority id prolly stay at 1.5ohms with a 18350 batt till i felt like getting a GOOD 18650 that has atleast a third of the discharge rate left after my decided build

As important as ohms. - Wire diameter - Try a 30ga coil for faster heat up and a bit longer battery life.
I run 1.3 to 1.6ohm and usually avoid SS wicks when running 18350's.

I would suggest you grab a few AW IMR18350. They seem to have the edge over most in class.

first off thank you very much. i did purchase a couple mnke imr 18650s the ones that were advertised as 30a.

also i took a couple semesters in physics and got a's, i once knew how to break down each variable further too ....however it was a while and dont really want to relearn it. but i remember the concept and if i just take a quick look itll come back to me, the whole VIR thing come back real quick. too bad i was not into this while i was taking the class, it wouldve been so much more interesting. i did learn all the formulas but i never learned (or remember) about what happens to a battery what the variable it higher than what it could handle.

i do want something a little more discrete which is why i purchased a telescoping mod, and would love to run a smaller battery, under advisement i will stay in safe parameters. thanks!
