Online Dating Profile: What do you fill in?

Whilst having a vape in my car tonight, I took a brief thought of my old days romping thru the online dating sites and apps (how I met my beautiful fiancée might I add!) when I thought of the question they all ask: SMOKER?


I wondered what you all would fill in for this field, and if it has, or you feel would-ever, cause a problem or issue with a possible mate that you've met for the first time on a site?


Any thoughts or feedback would be most welcome!

I would put "non-smoker". People want to know if you are a smoker or not for specific reasons, and IYAM, vaping does not count for those reasons!!

When I had used one of those profiles I put non-smoker with a written disclaimer that I use e-ciggs, there's no smoke/risk, and oh ya, if you don't like it keep it moving because I'm not changing.

And what did I find? A fellow vaper.

I would no more answer yes to that question than I would as a coffee drinker or a pie eater.

Just to ease them in to the madness lol

I wish I could find a nice vaper girl, preferable of the River Song variety

I put multi-millionaire smoker and it didn't seem to bother any of the women that contacted me that I smoked at all, nor did they care that I was 25 years older than them, I think young ladies are much more tolerant of smokers now a days

I would reply with the truth. Women love honesty. But feel free to add that vaping makes the house smell nice.

I put non smoker in mine but there is a disclaimer in the beginning that i do use and eicigarette.

To reiterate what everyone else said. By definition you are not a smoker.

The true question of what to fill in is, "Do you do drugs?". Nicotine is a drug, but by answering yes you're self-incriminating yourself of potential illegal activity. Food for thought.

I've just changed mine from "occasionally" to "non smoker" after a month of vaping. I'm pretty confident I won't smoke now but wasn't initially!

Yes! I never put down smoker on my dating profile. Saying that your a smoker will discourage alot of ladies from getting in touch with you.

I agree non-smoker .. vaping isn't even in the same category as smoking. I hate the words e-cigs cause so many confuse that as actually smoking but you could mention you love to vape, then you get to explain in better detail to further the conversation with the said potential guy/gal

The vast majority of people want to know if you're a smoker so they know if you reek like an ashtray. That doesn't apply to vapers.
