I've noticed a trend lately in apartments becoming smoke free. Mine is actually smoke free (thank god I don't smoke anymore huh) ...I was wondering if anyone has run into issues with apartment managers and the like? Mine haven't said anything thus far but I don't think they have noticed me vaping anyway. I know I"m enjoying the fact that I can sit in the comfort of my home and vape, no more going outside and freezing or getting overheated or wet or whatever.

Most places that ban indoor smoking that arent public areas do so because of the tar issues and fire hazards that accompany cigarettes. Your PV is going to be no more dangerous than a TV as fara s fire hazards go imo - and there's no tar so I can't see why they might object (although they still might but I doubt they'll notice if you're discreet lol).

Hi all!

I've been a property manager for 11 years and a vaper for almost 2 months.

From a building managers perspective, vaping is no different than someone using a nebulizer, inhaler or humidifier. There is no smoke. There is is nothing coming out of the ecig that could damage the property. Seriously, all we care about is that you are not going to burn down our buildings at 3 in the morning.

If I as a landlord knew nothing about the vaping world and a tenant explained it to me as a nicotine inhaler or vaporizer with no smoke and only water vapor coming out, I wouldn't even blink twice. Actually, my guess would be that most apartment managers would be super interested simply because the majority of my piers in the industry are chain smoking pigs and are always catching hell from owners about smoking on the properties.

To summarize, SCREW the landlord and vape where you will!

My hubby and I got started on vaping because of our apartment manager. We do not live on a smoke free property but within the first couple of weeks of moving in management told us they were getting complaints from the apts. connecting to ours.

Management knew before we signed our lease that we both smoked. Long story short, after more complaints from management, they threatened to evict us if we continued to smoke inside. I had read a bit about e-cigs and decided to dig deeper and educate myself. We've been vaping a little over a month now :)

Thanks management! Your harassment and threats saved our lives!

You should be able to vape in your apartment. I would not advertise it though as it may cause confusion and where there is confusion they always error on the safety side.

Apartments simply don't want the cigarette smell in their apartments. And after years the tar will build up on the walls and rugs. Then there is the accidental fire concerns.

Think about it, how are they ever gonna know you vape in your apartment? :)

Oh I vape in my apartment no worries there. I love being able to sit on the couch and do that without the worries of fires, burn holes, messy ashtray and the like. And you don't have to tell me about what it puts on the walls...I discovered that once when I moved ...I took pictures down and what not and wow.......the white spaces vs the rest of the walls amazed me...

I have never lived any where that I could not smoke. But I am glad that I quit and went to vaping not only for my health but for the sake of not having to polish smoke stained furniture, repaint smoke stained walls, replace smoke stained shades etc.

Man that crap makes a mess inside and outside of you!
