No-Nic and Breastfeeding

Would vaping no-nic liquid have any effect on breastfeeding?

I have been asked to ask this question from a friend. My first instinct was no, absolutely not. But, I figured I'd just pop in here to see if anyone has already done any research or has any experience with this.

Well, it's better than vaping nic, that I'm positive of. Passing nicotine through breast milk causes slower weight gain for baby, as well as accelerated heart rate and withdrawal when breast feeding is discontinued. As a public health nurse, I can't find a concern with vaping the no nic juice. I see a lot of smoking pregnant and breast feeding women every day and it breaks my heart.

my friend has already quit cigarettes long ago. its just the flavors shes interested in. so no nicotine is desired at all. shes just ultra cautious and was wondering if no-nic has any type of effects on the body that might affect the baby. i for one cant come up with a single factor that might be harmful. heck, i'd go so far as to say that standing behind a bus for 30 seconds or drinking a plastic bottle of water that had been in the sun would be a thousand times more harmful than no-nic vaping. but hey, thats just me.

the only thing to probably to keep in mind is that PG causes dehydration and a nursing mom needs to be properly hydrated. so lots of water!
