Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out if there is a brand of drip bottle with a cap that fully screws on tight. Just the cheap squeeze bottle type with the dropper tip. The typical ones like a lot of suppliers ship in get tight enough for normal tossing about, but when I leave such a bottle as a reserve stash in my car... It's a black car in the south... so invariably it heats up and oozes all over. I know there are plenty of other glass bottles with a firmly screwing caps (dropper bottles would be my next choice if I can't find something like this), but I'd prefer just the bottle with the attached dropper that I could easily refill in the car without making a mess.

Anyone have a good suggestion?

You do realize that juice heated like that will lose it's effectiveness, right?

The juice expands faster than the bottle when heated and it has to go somewhere. The cap is the weak point. So, that's where it goes. If it didn't the bottle could burst and you'd have a real mess. A glass bottle with a dropper might help but, maybe not. I just drove through the mountains with a couple glass dropper bottles and they seeped because of the reduced air pressure. About the only thing that might help is to only partially fill the bottles and to store them upright. Then you'd leak air rather than juice.

Well, it's not as though I'm heating it to boiling. +- 20° isn't going to create tons of pressure. The familiar hiss of a soda bottle opening was what I had in mind. A glass bottle, for instance, would behave this way.

Just a little painful to use this type of bottle on the go, and was hoping there were bottles with a built in dropper that would seal better than ones like these generally do:

I got a couple of these at One Stop DIY Shop. I think if you google glass dropper bottles, you can get a little better deal. For $1.25 I can't say I'd bother. I only know because I had friend that wanted several of them. They did seep when I went through the mountains though.

They do come with a separate cap that doesn't have the dropper. That might work better but, I left them at home. If you come back to your car and find a cracked bottle an a juice mess, don't blame me.

Good luck with that, I've been looking for leak-proof bottles forever and can't seem to find one anywhere. There's nothing more annoying than slowly and constantly losing your favorite juice through a leaking bottle. The glass bottles don't leak, but I hate droppers!!!

BWB use to use leak proof 10ml bottles. Then went to the newer ones that leak. He still uses the leak proof for 15ml. DFW Vapor still uses the 10ml leak proof. They are short and round and the top screws right down tight. Wish everyone would use those.
