Hi all, me and my other half have both ordered Vapestick xl starter kits to get us started vaping,
and are getting on ok with them, except the fact that the cartridges aren't lasting very long and d
on't taste great. So I have been looking into refilling the disposable cartridges, and (correct me if I am wrong)
it seems that this is ok as long as I do it properly, and I will have to buy some sort of filler material and some e liquids?

I would like some guidance on this but please, excuse my ignorance, you will have to explain everything
because it is all a lot of information to take in :) I would also like to know the best place to purchase e liquid
from the UK (online) I don't mind trying new flavours but my other half would like something that tastes as m
uch like an analogue as possible although he knows it won't be the exact same.

Thank you so much in advance, just really need some help here as I feel that I am doing quite well with not
smoking analogues but these cartridges just aren't doing it for me and don't want to revert back to my old ways :)

Hello & welcome Lollipop :D

I'm also in the UK & been using e-cigs for over 4 years, so should be able to help you :)

I've never tried the Vapestick but I'm fairly certain you should be able to refill the cartomisers that came with it with any e-liquid of your choice.Have a look at this list of UK vendors & you will see you have so many e-liquids & e-cigs to choose from -

ALL ABOUT E-CIGARETTES UK - E-cigarette/E-liquid Vendors List + discount codes

The ciggie lookalikes don't really do it for most folks. Apart from anything else, the battery life is so short between recharges. About the best deal at the moment for a good kit from a UK e-cig vendor is this one from Exhale -use discount code AAEC for 12.5% off -

Yes "refilling" the disposables is just fine. I now people that get a month out of disposable carto`s. Just take a small finishing nail and pry the little white cap off the end of the cart. Its not very hard at all should come right off. Then under the white cap there should be a little silicone type doughnut thing under it. You can keep it and replace it back or toss it, up to you. When filling with liquid tilt carto 45 degrees and drop juice around the filler material until slushy on top. There is another way to fill called the "condom method" its easy too, but once you understand how both methods works you can decide for yourself. On youtube you will find videos of both.

At the home page of the forum scroll ALL the way down till you get to the vendors links and there are several "registered" ECF vendors from the UK listed. Before you make a purchase check out their reviews.

Hope that helped.

Hi Chrissie :) thanks for the great info! Funnily enough, I was actually looking on eXhales website before purchasing my Vapestick. To be honest, the only thing that is getting me down about it is the taste of the cartridges and the amount of time they last! I am getting used to recharging the batteries and will be purchasing a charge on the go case so that it will be less of an issue. The main reason I don@t want the eXhale model is that I really do just want one that looks like a normal cigarette, or atleast the same size. I know it's silly but just prefer them, but hey, I probably won't be saying that once I have been vaping for longer! Could you also possibly advise me on what sort of filler to use for the cartridges. I heard someone talking about 100% polyester pollyfiller or something like that? Thank you so much, huge help :)

You will so not be saying you want a ciigie lookalike after a while :D

Can you give me alink to the Vapestick you bought please? I need to know if it comes with cartomisers or atomisers plus cartridges. If it's a 2 piece with cartomisers, then you can't really re-stuff them if it is an old fashioned 3 piece then the cartridges can be restuffed wit blue foam -

Above vendors e-liquids are pretty good BTW :)

One more question, filler material? Can I use the old filler? Do I wash it? Or do I buy new? Thanks again :)
I always reused the same filler in my old 901, before switching away from cartridges. It will work fine for a few refills but will eventually get old and wore out. You can also just fill the cart without filler unless it leaks, then you will need to find a filler material. synthetic sponge should work just fine, or cotton, or quilt batting, or....get creative with things you already have. It really doesn't matter the filler material because it's only purpose is to hold the liquid in the cartridge so it doesn't run out everywhere.

BTW...the above poster is correct. You will very soon get sick of a cigarette look-a-like. It took me about 4 days and I ordered a new eGo. I know it seems natural when you've been smoking so long but it gets old real quick once you start vaping

I'm new also, but started with disposable cartridges. I did not do anything with the old filler, just popped the end off and put about 10 drops of liquid down the inside of the cartridge until the filler became saturated. Just be cautious not to overfill it.

My wife and I also wanted our first e-cig to look and feel like a real cigarette, but after a while, decided to try the ego twist with mini novas. Huge difference! We''re now looking at more advanced mods. We are hooked.

Some carts have a silvered plastic seal that's penetrated by the atty. If you refill these they're likely to leak unless stored upright. But yeah, I did the same with my first cig-alike device. As long as you use a similar flavour there's no need to wash or replace the filler either.

Being a menthol smoker I just refilled them with menthol e-liquid from a bottle, using a small syringe. With the 510 types you just pull out the silicone rubber end cap and drip straight from the bottle, there's no filler in those. Varies from one make to another.

Okey Dokey, I think I've found the kit you bought lollipop? -

VAPESTICK XL Electronic Cigarette

If so, it's a 3 piece & the atomiser looks like it's either an M series or maybe 103. Whichever, you can either wash out the cartridges & also restuff them with blue foam.

Most prefilled carts have a boot that comes on them. Fill a boot that doesn't have the tit at the bottom about 2/3 full and slowly push the cart down. Watch for juice coming out the top. When it does, stop, it's full. You can refill several times as long as you don't run it dry and get a burnt taste.

I know what you're saying, I just think it's one of those things, I won't listen to anyone until I figure that out for myself haha. It's like when older people tell you that school is the best days of your life- you don't believe them until you get there! I know what you mean though and will probably end up getting there but at the moment, to be honest, I really don't mind my Vapestick :)

Theres a few ways to refill them, for all of them pop off the white cap on the mouthpiece (I use a paperclip or tweezers to pop them off.) If they came with a condom on the end, you can fill that and then push the battery side of the carto into that. It will fill up the filler with juice (I'm not sure if you can do that method with yours because the condoms that come on your look small, but you might be able to do it with multiple fillings.) Another way is to drip juice into the top. Tilt the carto at an angle drip a few drops, rotate the carto add more drops (this takes longer as those drops need to make it to the end of the carto where the coil is.) Another way is to take a syringe, put the needle down into the filling on the sides and slowly squeeze juice into it.

Here's a video of the condom method:
There's also vids on youtube on how to do the dripping method but its really easy :)
