New Chantix commercial ... can't find a YouTube
However ... Opening line is
"I didn't want Nicotine to give up Nicotine ....."

Is this a Chantix push back against e-cigarettes
reducing the demand for their poison ??

I take it to be exactly that...

But guess what Pfizer... I don't care about Nicotine, I just wanted to quit Smoking... and retain my will to live in the process.

So now Chantix isn't a "quit smoking" drug, it's a "quit nicotine" drug... Hmmmm.... Wonder what the patch, lozenge, gum boys are gonna come up with.... "Nicorette, it's a quit-sucking-on-yer-tube drug!"

*sigh* If some generous benefactor would give us the money for the TV commercial, ours would start with, "I had no interest in giving up nicotine, but I didn't want to die of a smoking-related disease. Switching to a low-risk substitute for smoking was the perfect solution."

I thought the SAME THING when I saw the newest commercial. If that isn't targeted at vaping, idk what is.

So while Chantix throws every other big pharma cessation product under the bridge and promotes psychosis and suicidal ideation with use of their drug, I will continue to happily vape on my 15 mg strawberry juice. Quitting SMOKING is the goal for me. If I wanna give up nicotine I will just vape 0mg. Win win!

E-cigarettes must be taking a Huge bite out of Pfizer's profit sandwich
for them to spend the time and money to come up with a new commercial
specifically designed to push back against e-smoking.

Wondering if Pfizer got a call from those marketing nicotine patches and gums saying ...

"If you want to throw e-cigs AND us under the bus ... we'll advertize
If you don't want suicidal thoughts or actions .... try our products"

I have seen a commercial with a male spokesperson stating, "I didn't want to use nicotine to quit nicotine."

If anything, that might work against the financial interests of GlaxoSmithKline / Johnson and Johnson, makers of NRT products.

But it also highlights a public awareness / education need -- to let everyone (smokers, doctors, scientists) know that

...smokers smoke predominantly for nicotine, that nicotine itself is not especially hazardous, and that if nicotine could be provided in a form that is acceptable and effective as a cigarette substitute, millions of lives could be saved.

Up here recently I've seen more and more nicotine patch commercials then ever before, I might be bias but might not be to. Lol

Seems to me the Chantix people are indeed throwing NRTs under the bus with the new message...

Was talking on the phone today with my favorite Internet marketer.
Chantix came up in the conversation. She said her doctor
will NOT write a script for Chantix to anyone...under any condition
even if a patient insists. She said her doctor told Big Pharma's
drug rep not to even mention the word Chantix in his office.

Personally I never gave nicotine much thought. I did want to quit smoking tho and an e-cig turned out to be the perfect solution. I've left my vamo and ego home on more than one occasion and didn't have that overwhelming urge to go buy a pack of cigs (like I did when I was smoking) or make an excuse to drive home and pick up my vamo so I guess nicotine isn't the big bad monster in the room for my situation. When you read the list of bad things that can happen with Chantix you just know the "cure" (ANTZ code for quit or die ) is as likely to kill you as smoking (and maybe sooner).

I just love how they don't realize that nicotine in and of itself as as "dangerous" as caffeine, and yet they want to peddle a drug that induces suicidal thoughts in the users. No thanks, I'll stick with my vape sticks/aircraft aluminum batons (as my friends seem fond of calling my e-cigs and egos that, wonder what they'll say when they see my evic and incoming Vamo ). I'll happily put nicotine into my system knowing full well I'm not hurting anyone, let alone myself, by doing so. Sure as hell beats having a "Doctor" inject me with something that'll make me want to kill myself.

I haven't had cable TV in years. Hell, I haven't watched TV in years. I guess I'm missing all these great commercials! OMG I just watched that commercial you linked. I like how 70% of the video is explaining all the side effects. At least it doesn't cause .... leakage!
