Hello all, I went to a birthday party for my fiance's uncle this weekend and found out he was diagnosed with cancer and must quit smoking if he wants to have any chance at all to live much longer. He has to have surgery in two weeks and he was interested in getting an ecig to help him give up the analogs and also so he could use it after his surgery in the hospital. I was just wondering what everyone thinks would be the best ecig to buy him so he dont have to mess with it too much and where should I get it. I dont really have alot of money so kinda looking to find something cheap for him so he can give up the analogs. Thanks in advance for any opinions and Hope you all have a great week!!

Yea I was thinking that as well but I mainly use 5volt 510 stuff and he lives about 3 hours away from me so I dont really see him that much. I was actually thinking just a cheap 3.7v box mod with cartomizers would be the easiest but figured I would get opinions on the subject.

In terms of ease...I think you're headed down the right path with the box mod/cartos. I would suggest something like the Janty/Joye Stick. They have gotten really cheap as of late...I've seen them new for $35.

The reason I say this, is that they can be recharged via usb while being used as a passthrough. For a new vaper wanting low maintenance, it's a great setup. Add in cartomizers, and it should be great for someone looking for ease of use!

One thing that I think you may want to carefully consider is the treatment he's going to receive for this cancer. I had to do a ton of research before I introduced my mom to vaping. I was concerned that the PG, VG, or flavorings might harm her chemo treatments, post-surgery recovery, or future radiation.

I'd suggest looking around a bit before you push the vaping onto him. There may be better options to get him nicotine that, depending on the chemo drugs he takes, won't interact with those medications.

Just a couple of my thoughts. I know we all are firmly entrenched in vaping but it's not always the best option for all circumstances.

Lilth79-I totally agree with the battery life thing that is why I am kinda shying away from buying the standard 510 ecig because the battery life on them things in my opinon is crap.

Satharra- He is the one that is wanting to get an electronic cigarette because he tried one of the cheap disposable ones from a hucks and liked it after doctor told him he needed to quit smoking so im guessing they will be fine with his treatment but good point nonetheless and definately something I will enquire about.

Basilray- Great idea I totally forgot about the usb charging option of the janty stick. I will have to look into that option as well.

Thanks again to all who have gave me suggestions and given there opinions on this matter, I appreciate it greatly and look forward to any other suggestions that people may what to give me. Have a great week all!!

I'd probably go with either an EGo or one of the KR808 types. I have an elegant, which Drozd has convinced me is an EGo clone, and I do really like it compared to the stock KR808 batteries.

That being said, whatever you go with, I'd suggest the cartos over the atty and carts. My cartos last me a lot longer than the other methods and dripping may end up being more a pain for him than its worth.

Again, depending on his treatments, he could end up losing feeling in his fingers. So dripping and filling may become very problematic.

I know mods and other things are neat, but I'm also an 808 person. V4L's XL batteries give long life between recharges, if that's important (standard batteries are pretty decent, too). Get pre-filled cartos and there's no real work involved.

(That's what I've done for a couple friends -- I enjoy the DIY and filling my own, but for them I just have them get pre-filleds -- not that much more $, and really simple.)

If you go the 808 route, both NHaler and Vapor4life have given me good customer service. NHaler's 10% off is saveinnj, V4L's is smilin -- V4L often has 20% off too (check their forum area).

Two batts (regulars or V4L XLs), case, initial 5 pack of cartos, charger runs $45 after discount.

I also agree on the prefilled 808s and Xlong batts or elegante batts.

I do really like my elegant coupled with the Cool Carts or the CigEasy Golds. From my understanding, the Defender is the same and the turbos should also offer a similar vaping experience.

That being said, I absolutely loathe the pre-filled cartos. They just taste awful. I'd show him the condom method and be done with it. It's pretty simple, albeit messy.

Really near the mexican border.
If want to go with a 510 like battery, check out the hello016 at madvapes.com they have quick charger, cartos and the battery for about 34.00 + shipping.

I also like the janty stick idea because the charger only needs to be plugged in a usb to wall charger to keep on vaping and once he's out of the hospital he can work on getting more a battery charger and more batteries for the stick. I like that idea. Honestly If I had found this place prior to starting to vape, I would have gotten a janty stick and a hello 016 and then some 808 batts./cartos.

they all are really easy to deal with.

I do not care much for the pre-filled 808 cartos from V4L either. There is another forum vendor, Prime Vapor, that has pre-filled 808 cartos that are really yummy. They had a sample giveaway a while ago, and the Tahitian Punch sample that I received was awesome.

Of course they are slightly more expensive than V4L, but for someone who doesn't want to bother with filling them, it would at least be a way to vape something that tastes good. If you sign up for their mailing list, they occasionally have sales too.
