Hello, I have a Horizon Tech Falcon tank that is always stuck each time I try and change the coil. and I have had to take it to my local vape shop to get it apart before. On my own I have tried using:
Hot water
Sticking it in the freezer
Rubber bands
Work gloves
Kitchen gloves
And combinations of aforementioned. I would rather not have to go to my local shop each time I would like to change my coils. Does anyone else have any tips? I fear that the only way is to break the glass which I'd rather not do. Thanks!

Hello Obelisk_00, have heard folks using elastic bands for getting tanks apart.

But you shouldn't have to tighten up your tank that much, try not to tighten it up as much next time. It just needs to be nice and snug.

Also, wet the seals for the glass as well with a little liquid. This lubricates the seals and can make it a little easier to get apart.

Hope you get things sorted out eventually though.

I suspect gunk buildup. The next time you get it apart make sure the mating surfaces such as threads and stuff are completely clean of debris, (anything that is dark brown or blackened is a good start) then lubricate them with a bit of VG before putting them back together. May or may not help.

Ceramic Vape Tweezers

These grip my tanks. Just google "ceramic tweezers vape". They are available at amazon, eBay, and lots of places.

LOL according to the linked store (MVS), those tweezers contain nicotine. I am sure that labeling is a requirement of the idiotic FDA though.

Until you can get a pair of the ceramic vape tweezers...if you have a Dollar Tree in your area...one of the round, waffle-like, textured grippers they sell will work! Should be in the section with kitchen utensils, pot holders, etc. They're made of the same material some rolls of cabinet/cupboard liners are made of, except the grippers are a thicker material. They sell them in packs of 4, and they're just shy of 5 1/2" in diameter. Makes it really easy to get a good grip on the tank to take it apart.

ETA: Here they are on their website (in bulk), so you'll at least see what I'm talking about -

WOW, I was going to order those, but they want an additional $5.50 (as the cheapest option) to ship those $5.50 tweezers via standard USPS mail. No way it's that much to ship.

So I did order them from Gearbest instead for free shipping and slightly cheaper too. I did choose the HK Warehouse so I paid a bit more than the China WH, but they were back ordered until April and HK was ready to ship tomorrow.

@ScottP - Those ceramic vape tweezers are a lot less expensive at other places...$2.27-$2.57 at eBay and Amazon...with Free S/H.

Oops! Just saw you already ordered a pair.

I appreciate your looking out. I did see a similar product on Amazon for $2.99 but it didn't have the inserts for various size tanks, where as the ones I ordered has a couple of inserts for different tanks. I had some points at GB so I only paid $4.66. I felt the inserts were worth the extra $1.67. I did not look at eBay.

I have one of those rubber type mesh mat things you put under the basin in a sink, cut into strips - I use it in conjunction with a plumbers wrench.

Back in the day the original Nautilus Minis which were/are bottom fillers were known to be prone to sticking and I got that tip on this forum.

I'm still using these tanks and do get the occasional one sticking and this trick has never failed me.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Not sure whats sticking, two conductive or non conductive surfaces. Suggest considering lube sticking surfaces with conductive or non conductive high temp lube compound as required.

I took it to mean the base was stuck to the upper potion of the tank. I would not suggest lube because if any gets into the juice who knows what hazards that could open you up to. If you absolutely have to use some sort of lube, then maybe KY or some other type of "personal" lube that is considered safe to ingest. I would definitely not use anything labeled as hazardous.

Wish I'd thought of that - now you've said it it's so blindingly obvious - well done sir!
You are very welcome. Like my grandpa use to say "if you want to find out the easiest way to do something, ask the laziest person in the room.
