Yes, it's late out here in Cali but since I can't sleep I thought I'd share my DIY vape wrap. One of my big motivators for quitting smoking, aside from the obvious health benefits and my high blood pressure, was to save money. I've only been vaping for a few months and between trying different juices, going through clearos, eventually upgrading, learning how to use carto tanks (and subsequently burning through cartos in the process), etc. I haven't "saved" much, lol.
Anyway, I cut corners where I could, one of which was wrapping my mod. I noticed most of the wrap companies boast that their material is 3M Di-noc material and usually run between$15-18 . Now, my mod is small (Z-max Mini V3) and doesn't require much material to cover it. So I did some shopping around and found samples of the same materials for 99 cents each that gave me enough material and then some to suit my needs. I bought 3 samples in 2 colors just in case I made a mistake or change my mind on the color. I want to be clear that I am in no way knocking anyone's hustle. The pre-cut wraps are good quality and save a lot of time and they fit perfectly but again, I wasn't tryin' to drop a dub on a little vinyl. If I had a full size mod, maybe I would've.
Anyway, I know its not as impressive as doing rebuildables or anything like that, but I thought it came out pretty cool looking. Here go the pics!
Started with the samples. Flat black and Gunmetal Gray. Everyone has black, so I went with gray.
Made a template from paper
Cut the vinyl down to the correct dimensions. Never liked the thick chrome top, so I made a small strip with a little space to leave a little chrome on the body and give it some style.
Stenciled the cut-outs
Ready for install
Dope. I like!
With my other tank.
It looks much better in person and the indentations are more pressed in and natural looking now. Thanks for looking!
