I'm new to vaping and I decided on buying a sigelei 30w with a davide bdc tank. It was working well for about an hour when the mod read "check atomizer" after not knowing what to do, I changed the coil head and it worked again however shortly after the same thing happened. what's causing this to happen? How can I fix it? Any advice will be greatly appreciated

I agree with edyle. I had a similar problem. Try backing off the tank a little. Instead of super tight try just snug the tank down.
I ended up having to use a:
Ismoka Eleaf 510 - Ego Adapter
re: Eleaf 510 to eGo Thread Adapter (Connector) by iSmoka

My RDA has no 510 adjustment so I ended up filing the top of the 510 male thread on the Ismoka Eleaf 510 - Ego Adapter to where electrical contact could be made ( it is soft brass,so I took off about 1/32" off the top barrel).
If your tank 510 connection has a non adjustable pin the above fix should work.
Before you do the above, you would want to test the adapter without any filing. If you have another topper, try that also to verify contact before filing.

If you happen to consider this fix, mod, adapter and tank will be snug. All wear and tear will be between tank and Eleaf 510 - Ego Adapter. Saves the sigelei 30w threads.

If you have any additional questions, just hit "like" at bottom right hand corner and I will get back to this thread.

Check the pin inside the 510 connector. You can take an ink pen and push on it. It should move up and down. That pin must make good contact with the tank center pin when you screw it on. Make sure it is clean. Just take a q-tip and run it around the 510 connector. Don't let rubbing alcohol anywhere near your tank where it could get in your eliquid. Vinegar would be a healthy choice.

probably 510 centerpin contact problem.
when you screw in the tank too tight it presses down on the mod centerpin and the pin gets pressed down too far and does not make contact.

I cleaned it however I think the pin has been pressed too far down. Any ideas on how to fix this? (Sorry I'm really new to this)

you can try to tweak it up with a toothpick; just make sure the power is off
It should be spring loaded. Just take the atty out and reinstall, and this time don't crank on it so much.

Nothing seems to be working, it's become quite frustrating. I think I'll look into buying an adaptor and hope that it'll work but thanks for all the advice

Just remember to test the adapter before you modify it. At the very least the adapter will save your mod threads and greatly promote the operating life of the mod.
You cannot go wrong. For the price (I got mine free) you might get two. My adapter is slowly being worn down by my RDA's and I wish I had another one.
Good choice.

What wattage are you running it at. I read some reviews on that tank and they said the stock coils popped if the voltage was too high. Most of what I saw suggested like 2 - 3V operating range on an eGo battery.
I think that could be the problem because I was trying out different wattages and after using 30w this problem occurred
