I'd been looking around for a peppermint flavor and decided to try using one of Mrs. T's oil-based peppermint flavors. Questions:
  1. I've heard that because oil-based flavors aren't water soluable, they shouldn't be used. I guess one reason is because they they don't break down in PG/VG and won't mix well. Question: Are there any negative health effects vaping oil-based flavors, or is it just that they can clog atty's or cartos?
  2. If they're OK to use, what's the best way to 'cut' them so that they'll mix with PG/VG?

Thanks !

I have heard most Oils are NO NO'S and there are a few that are not known to be harmful but still that does not mean safe - For this I stay away from them until more can be said on using any Oils. There are negative effects of some Oils and with so many other things out there why use Oils that can be a hit or miss thing? That is the best thought I can give and good luck!

Many of us have used mint oils for quite awhile without any problems.

Some of us oil users, like me, still chuckle that mint oils are confused with other oils and grouped in with the NONO bunch. I figure what the ignorant don't know just means more for me.

Don't confuse PG/VG for water in any way shape or form and things will go better for your thought process. PG is an alcohol and VG is a bit odder in that it can act like water in some cases.

Thanks Mr.Beo & Hoosier.

I've been vaping a peppermint flavor for awhile now, but the flavor supplier for the vendor has changed the ingredients and it's just not same. So I'm looking for a substitute. DYI is not my first choice, but I'm giving it a shot anyway.

I still have a question on what to 'cut' the peppermint flavoring with, so that it will mix better with the PG/VG/Nic mix I've heard that it should be mixed with grain alcohol first (e.g. or Everclear), and then mixed into the PG/VG/Nic mix. Is that true?

BTW, I meant LorAnn's peppermint oil, not Ms. T's. Although I just ordered some of all her peppermint 'varietals.

I make all of my own now.....so since I have flavoring from just about everywhere I will comment on this post. The only real problem with oil flavorings is they separate completely from VG and since I use 70% VG 30% flavoring, oil flavorings are not an option for me at all. TFA has really awesome mint & peppermint flavors try them they are pg based!
