So I'm just getting into rda's and am maybe thinking of getting a Mech Mod sometime. I'm curious as to what Companies that make Clones of Mechs and rda's are considered to be higher Quality as far as materials and making Solid Products???

I know there's like Tobeco, Acerig, Infinite, EHPro, M-Mods, hcigar, and others.

So which ones are known for good quality and which ones are known to be lesser quality???
Thanks

I bought a Tobeco Stingray X, and apart from the button it is a fine clone. That said, the button was a complete disaster. After a week, it began sticking in the "on" position, so I took it to the B&M where I bought it. It appears they (tobeco) used cheapy magnets that weren't even the right size, and they knew they were doing so because the right size ones didn't even fit. So my B&M replaced my button assembly and all with a button from an Infinite clone for free, and now the whole thing works quite nicely.

So now, I have a Tobeco/Infinite hybrid, running in hybrid mode.

I will not buy Tobeco again.

Hcigar and Infinite and higher quality, EHpro is mid range and Tobeco is low quality.
Some manufacturers do a better job on a specific model while others on another.
It's also a matter of luck, since the quality control of all of them is not the best.
There are also unknown manufacturers meaning some website won't tell you which manufacturers they dealing with, this doesn't mean they are lower grade clones, it only means you will have to relay more on reviews of a specific model.
Iv'e had some unknown top notch items, and some hcigar failures.
Is the risk worth paying 1/10 of the price? You tell me.

I get you. I'm guessing authentic will mostly always be better than clones. But I don't have the cash to spend that much on a metal tube. I'll at least take my chances on one of the better known brands. I guess I'd better start reading up on reviews and watching videos for the ones I'm interested in.

I have had excellent luck with EHpro and Infinite. My two everyday setups are all clones. An EHpro Sledgehammer (26650 non clone tube from EHpro) topped with an EHpro 28.5mm Stillaire clone. And a Infinite Stingray x clone topped with the included hybrid adapter and EHpro Omega clone, this set up puts out outrageous clouds, and I have won three local cloud chasing events with it. Best of luck on finding good clones.

Buying at least one authentic mech does make sense to me even though it it's just a metal tube.
Mech don't change and therefore i will be using the same mod for a long time, so i want it to be a nice one.
RDAs on the other hand do change all the time and i would have been ...... spending 100+$ on one, only to find a week later that i want to replace it with another.

I could maybe justify spending a lot on an authentic if they offered a lifetime warranty on the product and would be willing to provide service on it if I had a problem. But I'm completely new and learning when it comes to mechs. I just got my Cana DNA30 v3 a little over a week ago so I'm not in a huge hurry to get a mech. I just want to start learning about brands and which mechs are good and what has had issues. It's a little overwhelming the amount of mechs there are on the market and how to go about finding something right for me. But as I said I'm in no big hurry as I am thoroughly enjoying my Cana v3 at the moment.
If anyone wants to add more to this, please go right ahead as I'm very interested in learning more.

The only clone mod that I own is the Tobeco Knight mod (Vape Smith did the authentic)
Carbon fiber and brass... I gotta say, the thing is almost flawless! Magnet switch is super smooth and works perfectly. All of the threads are perfect with no issues that I've been able to find.
The ONLY thing that makes it not flawless is a tiny issue that I easily fixed. The Knight's cross that was laser cut into the carbon fiber wasn't sealed on the inside of the cut. The carbon fiber was trying to separate and flake away... fixed it with a touch of clear fingernail polish. Everything it awesome now!!!

I had the original style in brass. Worked fine for a few months then started misfiring. It destroyed one batt and way over-heated two RDAs. Something else about this version is the heat release vents are faux. I can take it apart and try and blow thru it but they don't work. Mine is now retired.
