Checked my old emails. The last order I made there was 3 bags of screws totaling $14. Shipping was $6, seemed fair enough to me. Someone has to pull the items from the warehouse and stick them in an envelope and enter it on the system whether it's a $5 bag or a $100 bag. Odd way of doing though.

Thanks, y'all. I think I may pull the trigger but will get some more screws of other sizes in the order.

Not happy with fasttech screws because the heads are considerably narrower and that makes it harder to trap coil legs under even on kayfun 5 mini style leg entrapment designs as it leaves a lot of space.

My old USA source for screws (Mr. Metric) is no longer in business. They used to ship first class and a bag of screws would be about $4 to ship. Oringsandmore.com is also very reasonable with free shipping after $15 order, but they don't sell screws lol

I figured McMaster would be more.

This is not a "tactic" in the case of McMaster-Carr. They are an industrial/commercial supplier whose customers typically do not concern themselves with actual shipping costs as it is a deductible business expense anyhow. They sell consumers or hobbyists but that's not their target market.

I merely asked my question so I know what to expect, not because I thought they were shady... because I know thy are not.
