I am running the Griffin RTA + RX2/3 mod with HG2 18650 30A 3000mAh tripple batteries.
The mod goes up to 200w but is there a safe wattage limit I should use on my mod? My friend told me the batteries could vent if the max wattage is exceeded. I'm using 3 batteries in my mod, any idea on what the max safe wattage would be to vape on? Thanks.

Current=Power/Voltage

On a regulated device the maximum current draw occurs when your batteries are at their lowest voltage. Regulated mods cutoff when the voltage drops below a set minimum (usually 3.2V per battery).

Three batteries in series will have a maximum voltage of 12.6V and drain to a minimum of 9.6V. That would give you a maximum current draw of 20.8A when at 200W.

Thanks. Would that make it even safe at 200w since the batteries are 30A?

The LG HG2 3000mah is actually a 20a CDR cell ---> LG HG2 20A 3000mAh 18650 Bench Retest Results...a great 20A battery!

Everyone has to assess their own comfort level / saftey range.
Just me, mine is 60w per 20a CDR cell, I like batteries to have as long of a useful life as possible & prefer to err on the side of caution.
Some folks push them past that.

Repeating it but, the HG2 3000mah is not a 30amp battery it is a 20amp CDR battery, even LG the maker of the battery says it is a 20amp battery, who ever got it locked in your head it is a 30amp needs to go back and read LG's specs on the battery.

As stated by Topwater Elvis above, 20amp CDR battery without damaging the battery can be run up to about 60 to 65 watts maximum per battery. So triple battery configuration we multiply that by 3, 60x3=180 to 65x3=195 watts. And that is not taking into account the what the chipset bleeds off to run, so could be less still, also series battery configuration equals voltage x #batteries, but mah and amps of a single battery.

So the LG HG2 in the RX being triple battery, 12.6 (4.2v x 3) to 9.6v (3.2v x 3) operating voltage, 3000mah, 20amps CDR, about 60watts per battery (60x3=180) the safest.

Set Watts/Lowest Battery Voltage Before Mod Shut off/90% for chipset efficiency=Final Amps

180/9.6=18.75/90%=20.83333_ almost 21amps, safe but like taking a razor and cutting the top of your arm with a minor cut every minute
170/9.6=17.708333/90%=19.6759amps to safely run it without damage to the batteries.
