"Low resistance" on IPV4

Okay...so I just made this account a minute ago because I just ran my last coil out and dont have any more. Ive been vaping for years now but dont really know all the technical terms for it. I go to my vape store and the guys working usually set it up for me and I'm on my way. The only thing I know is how to refill it with juice lol. I know...i know...

I have an IPV 4 with a kangertech protank. I usually use the OCC 20-45w coil things. I just burnt up my last one. But i do have the kangertech mini rba. I put the egyptian cotton through (i watched a youtube video) and thought it was in right...but now my IPV 4 is saying "low resistance". I searched all through google trying to see what this meant and how to fix it. I dont know what Im doing wrong. But Im going crazy trying to fix this with no nicotine! If any of you know what this means or how to fix it your help would be much appreciated.

Hmm.. This might be a dumb question, but you didn't mention installing a coil in the actual RBA section.

Did you install a coil?

What's the resistance of the coil? I assume you don't have an ohm reader, but I'm pretty sure the IPV4 will read ohms even if it won't fire it. Are the ohms actually too low? Because y'know. That'd be the problem.

Too much cotton would not be a reason for a coil not firing or a low resistance reading.

Low Resistance pops up on ur ipv4s is because the resistance well is LOW lol. Meaning "assuming" u installed a coil and i doubt a protank u could multi coil till u get .09 ohms, u must have a simple jiffy which is your coil posts arent tight enough so its lose. Or that your protank's center 510 positive pin is not tightly snug with the ipv4s center positive pin. When these two or either things happen, ur ipv will show inconsistent ohm readings and most prolly will show "low resistance" most of the time. Try tightening the coil much more till it will never EVER move. And try adjusting the positive pin of your ipv4s. To do this unscrew ur protank and ur ipv4s's 510 threading in the middle is a goldish thingy (brass) that looks like a "minus" screw and loosen it to about 2 turns. And screw back the protank on it again. Tighten ur screws and update us again if it says low resistance. Better yet upload a pic and its easier to diagnose.

ipv4s runs a coil down to 0.3 I believe. so I'm guessing your coil is lower than that at a 0.2 or 0.1, or it could be a dead short, which is likely. I don't remember the protank as being a rebuildable deck. as that's the case, make sure the pin is in contact as stated in above post. if it is, try a new coil..make sure it's put in and tightened down correctly.hope This Helps. best wishes.

Ipv4s 0.1 ohm. I could fire down to that. Any lower it wont allow to fire.

Dont try this lol. U need to have good batteries or it wont fire (the least of your problems) or ur gonna have a bad time. Jihad style.

Ipv4s to me is a great mod. A good safe really regulated mod. A slight issue it would say check battery (battery not up to par with coil resistance) or low resistance (something is not right with the coils positions, 510 etc).

Another note i just remembered, try looking closely to your coil if ANY of the coil regardless from positive to negative or negative to positive, are any ends touching the walls of ur rba? Is any of the coils (middle part) touching the positive or negative posts? Or too low it touches the deck? The coil needs to be connected and touching only positive post to negative post thats it. Nothing else. Or it will short and say low resistance.

Thank you all very much! All of you were very helpful. I ended up just going the next day to buy more coils from my local vape. Im not that advanced yet at building my own coils but im definitely going to start looking into it.

I lost a very small piece in my subtank so it just keeps spinning and spinning and wont tighten completely. I tried to post some pictures the other night of it to show you all but it wouldnt allow me for some reason but I'll keep trying.
