Hi everybody
I just made my 1st DIY liquid a few days ago,i used NICOTINE base,100% glycerin from the pharmacy and concentrated flavors(caramel and cocconut)with the amount RECOMMEND by the manufacturer(8-12% flavor) actually I made a10% flavor concentrate
In the 1st day the taste was great, but the next few days the taste becomes very weak,so I added another 5% flavor concentrate so there is a little improvement of the taste but still weak taste and I noticed also that the concentrated flavor itself lost its strong smell
Can you explain?,any tips and hints from DIY expers

Hi
You are doing everything to abuse your taste buds, actually.
As it was said VG does not conduct flavour.
You are trying to increase flavour in your mix while it needs to be decreased...
Flavour perception is quite a complicated matter... as a rough analogy take the table salt -
add some to your dish, it will improve the taste. Add some more - the result will be awful.
The same with flavours. When the concentration of flavour reaches some threshold your brain (yes, its this grey fat substance that creates a feeling of taste, not your tongue) switches off the taste buds assuming error in perception.
When the flavour concentration is under this threshold but still too high, your brain gradually adjusts the sensitivity of the taste buds muting the taste.

Conclusion...
Well, use as much PG as you can
Start mixing from minimum flavour concentration
As generic assumption I would suggest 1% but keep in mind that some concentrates are very strong, so this figure is just a figure, not a strict rule.
Rule of thumb for flavourings is "Less is more"

If you're doing max VG (adding no additional PG outside of the flavorings themselves), it can extend steep time needed, depending on the flavor. I would need to know which company and the specific flavor you are mixing to try to help...

Yeah, I'm not familiar with that brand... but I agree with the above poster. Try using less flavoring. I know it sounds contradictory to what you're trying to do but too much flavoring can actually cause the flavor to be more muted.
I personally vape 20% pg 80% VG... It's the perfect combo for me. If you can, maybe try that percentage because from what you're describing, you're doing a 90%VG 10%PG which may be too much VG for you?

I guess you are right,i think I need also to try other brands,if you know a good brand that ship flavors overseas, please let me know
Regards
Flavors can get numbed down quickly if you overuse them and don't switch between different ones. Its called vapers tongue.
But beyond that some of my favorites are T-juice and vampire vape. They make complex flavorings that don't need to be combined and are good to go alone.Personal favorite would definitely be the red astaire by T-juice I would recommend looking for them at you local vape shop or online.
