I have tried TPA DDL and it is OK using their recommended %, but I too am looking for a good one as well. With the TPA I get a little bit of chemical aftertaste on the exhale. I must say that I get that with all of their flavors though. :2c:

Do you have any idea what brand flavor VT is using?

Don't have a clue, wish I did. Most I'm finding is TFA and FA and not a lot of good reviews on either lol. I've read a couple on TFA that sound just like yours, so evidently you're not alone.

Good to know, thanks for posting. Have you tried any others or just happy with TFA? Also, do you have any recipes you'd share?

I'm happy with it. As far as recipes I use it in an ry4 and really any other recipe that needs a cream texture with added flavor. It's a break from the usual sweet creams out there. Any recipe that calls for a creamy caramel, deluce de leche will fit the bill.

I agree with the TFA recommendation. I haven't worked too much with it but the recipes I've used it for, I have liked. I find every caramel except FA to be to overpowering. (buttery) Come to think of it, maybe I should substitute the caramel for Dulce de Leche.

Do you mean something like a cream and carmel mix instead of Dulce de Leche?

Although I described the VT DDL as creamy and caramally, it's just that it's in that camp. Not really cream and not really caramel. In fact milky and caramally might be better, but still not really milk either. I guess I don't know how to describe it lol.

I also don't have anything to compare it to. I've never tasted real Dulce De Leche and this bottle from VT is my first time vaping it.

No. Using Dulce de Leche in place of Caramel. It's similar enough that in some recipes, it should be alright. I just did one so we shall see. Anyway, here's a recipe with it in there. Looks good. (though some of the percentages look high)

Super Vanilla Custard (steep 15-20 days)
15% Vanilla Custard (Cap)
2.5% E.M.
3% Bavarian Cream (Tpa)
4% French Vanilla (Cap)
2% Dulce Leche (Tpa)

Ah ok, I see what you mean. That looks good, thanks for sharing and be sure to let us know how it turns out.

I'm pretty lazy in my old age, so I premix my base down to about 6.5 mg and if I add quite a bit of flavorings it can drop it on down around 5mg. That's not a big deal really, but it's one of the reasons I like to stick to the highly concentrated flavors if I can. I may have to try some of the Capella custard type flavors though. It seems like they all get good reviews.

I've used the DDL with the Cap's vanilla custard and it makes a very good combination.
