KGo/Ego BRAND NEW Dual Coils not working

Before I state my issue: Hi I'm Fran, nice to meet you all. And while I'm at it, lemme post specs of my e smoke stuff:

1. Two standard 510 battys, use LR Cartos 2.0

2. One KGo Batty w/charger; was using SLB Dual Coil Cartos, dead 1.25/ practically dead two BRAND NEW SLB 1.5 Dual Coil Cartos

=I don't know what happened. I've searched all over for an answer to whatever could be holding back the kick and vapor from my 1.5 ohm DC cartos. It's not the Kgo batty, for I put a brand new 510 LR carto on it, also made some more quick juice. Filled it up, screwed it onto the Kgo took the first hit and:

:vapor: :shock:X 1000. The strength and vape were so kick-az it knocked me back into my couch, hacking as if I'd just smoked three packs of analogs. THIS IS FROM THE LR 510. Plus, when I just hit the button, I distinctly heard snap/crackle/pop, as if I had just plunged a turkey into the deep fryer.

Then I switched back to the DC 1.5, and this is what I got: NEXT TO NOTHING. I had to pull so hard on a drag off the DC carto, I thought it may be damaged. But then again, every DC I've bought has had this issue. I watched lots of vids on refilling, etc. and none of the methods worked.

Could there have/was there anything wrong I did with the DC cartos? Any other suggestions would be much appreciated, cuz I'm ready to ditch both DC's and just stick with LR cartos.

p.s.=got so frustrated I broke the one DC carto; now only have one.

What brand are the DC's? Some brands that work well with egos done work so well with clones due to a slight difference in the depth of the threading. It causes the carto to get "suffocated". Some can be fixed by using a bent paper clip to gently pull the center pin out a little on the carto and not putting it on the battery as tight.

I'm thinking there's a possibility you've received some bad duel coils. I recommend notifying your vendor and see what they say. I've only used smok tech but I don't think the draw on the slb's should be that hard. Loosen them on the battery and take a couple of slow pulls to see how air is flowing. If it's fine with it loose but tightens back up when you screw it back, take a look at how they screw down on the battery. The smok tech tighten up before the bottom of the barrel part makes contact which leaves a gap for air flow. (there's no notch). If the draw is still tight with the carto loose, I'm not sure what could be causing that, but I'd talk to the vendor either way. Hope you get it sorted.

Edit: Bardolf Blaze put it better.http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/members/63396/bardolf-blaze.html

Well, the brand is SUPPOSED to be from Smoke Tech, but on the outside there's no Smoke Tech Label. Instead, it says "Dual Coils," but the label isn't "Smoke Tech" nor is it "SLB;" it says "hoosier ecig supply.com" That's what they've all said. One of his buddies gave kudos in a youtube vid to the seller's "Smoke Tech Dual Coils," But why don't they SAY that?

And wouldn't ya know: For the first time, MY KGO RAN OUT AND IS ON CHARGE, so back to the 510's. Which means I cannot test that DC, unfortunately. But I did manage to "pull out the pin" hopefully I didn't ruin it. It's loose and out just a bit. But I gotta wait for five hours, or at least one hour to have some kind of charge in it. Then I'll give it a try.

Something else: I did as you've suggested and watched how the carto screws down; it does seem as if the threads do NOT MATCH. It doesn't screw in smooth like it should. I'll be back either later on tonight, or sometime tomorrow to let ya guys know how it was loosening that pin a bit and not screwing it on too tight. I'll see if that works, and let you guys know.

Be well. ~Fran~

I'd pull the pin out slightly on the battery and on the carto so it makes a connection. It's not uncommon, especially with dual coil cartos. I'd pull the connection down on the carto first before I fooled with the battery though. But if that doesn't work, gently pull the pin down on the battery. I have a battery I have to do that with.

You're not using anything low resistance on the standard 510 batteries, are you? That will kill the batteries.

=Actually, yes I am. But ONLY STANDARD 510'S, NOT DC's. I use the standard LR 510 cartos on my 510 battys; they gotta great kick and long batty life. Also my battys are manual, no chance of leakage.

Oh, and UPDATE EMAIL FROM SELLER:

I told my seller all about the DC's. He says yes, they're from Smoke Tech. He also told me that maybe I'm just not having any luck w/ DC's. But, after following Bardolf's suggestion, YES IT WORKED, BUT WAS A PAIN IN THE ..... I kept it looser than when I'd put it on before. Now I'm hoping to hang onto it. But he's not replacing them, but I didn't ask him. I just asked him for any help he can give. Conclusion: Seller just recommended not to buy DC's, just stick to my LR 510 cartos. They kick ars better than any of the DC's.

Seller also wants link to this post since I told him where I went for help.

Also don't know where the pin is, so I hope I gently pulled the right thing!

...... YES IT WORKED, BUT WAS A PAIN IN THE .........

I hear you. A little over a year ago, I was desperate to get off cigs and decided to try e-cigs. I burnt up cartos so fast that I had to stick with attys and carts. I went through all the mods and finally made it work but what a pain lol. Now I mostly use the ce2 style and we know what a pain they are. All I can say is, it's worth it. My lungs are clear as can be now, and I feel so much better all the time.

I'm a little surprised that you're having troubles matching the kgo (slb ego clone) to the DCs as I thought that was supposed to be a good match. I'm glad you posted so that others can be wary of that combo.

I've tried the 1.6 ohm DCs and I like them, but I do think they add a little harshness to my fave juices and I probably won't buy any more of them. I do plan on trying one of the bottom coil designs in the future. Meanwhile, I've got to stick with what I have until they stop working, as I'm on a very strict budget.

Hang in there, and vape on! :vapor:

The seller should replace your DC cartos. Having to do surgery on each one to make it go is not ok. The quality of the LR DC by SmokeTech I've gotten have been fine. I don't use cartos much but friends locally - they all do and love the DCs. Sounds like you got a bad batch. The regular resistance Boges work nice on the Kgo as well. Not as hot but plenty of vapor/flavor. Good luck!
