Is it ok to keep my I taste on for long periods at a time. I forgot to turn it off last night when I put in into the case. It's a three tap on/off model. If the fire button is not depressed it won't burn out or kill the battery will it? Sorry I know this is a total newb question but I was just curious.

Yup, the voltage drain while in standby is minimal and there's no harm in doing it.
Same here with all of my on/off mods... hasn't hurt one yet... just be careful when putting it in your pocket if it isn't turned off... sometimes you can press the button accidentally which can ruin a coil/wick
Most if not all e cigs (excluding mechanicals) have a 10 second safety.

Even when it's off it's on. There is some electronic thing looking for you to press the button 3 times and turn it back "on". It only stops drawing a little current when the battery is dead.

I have an iTatse as well as a MVP. The Only time I ever turn them off is it I am going to put it them in my Pocket or Bad.
BTW - If I am going to Not Use an APV, I'm in the Habit of Unscrewing the Clearo or Tank from the APV. That way, if the Button should get Pushed in for some reason, Nothing Will Happen.

Newb wih a itaste VTR I left it on last night before I went to bed. My question is whether the coil stays hot in this vape the whole time its on? Will just leaving on for extended period of time hurt anything? Will just leaving it on without pushing the fire button drain the batt?
leaving the power on will just barely put a small drain on the battery, nothing to worry about. you might loose about .01V over 24 hours of being left on and not using it
Since its a VTR the only time the coil gets hot is when the button is pushed to vape ( or something is terribly wrong with the circuit board)
