Well, a couple months ago I bought and then sold two Kayfuns (Ehpro, + version) and may be regretting it. I think now that I didn't give them a fair shot and maybe want to try once more, but this time I am considering a genuine V2.

So my question is: Is the vaping experience going to be significantly different between a genuine kayfun Lite and a clone? I know that this can be subjective to some degree, but assuming that you have a good clone with proper juice channels, etc..., is there really a big difference in the vape? Or am I better off buying the clone for "round two"?

I'm hoping some folks that have actually tried both can share their thoughts.

Thanks.

I'm a boring vaper these days, I pretty much only use kayfuns, identical builds, and a handful of juices. I've never been able to notice any difference between the vape of the clones and authentics assuming comparable construction, and not for a lack of trying. Especially when running aftermarket tubes and top caps I've had to go around unscrewing attys looking at bases trying to figure out the real one.

Some clones have larger (or multiple) air ports which will give you better airflow assuming you run it wide open, but other than that, if it's functioning properly it's going to vape the same. The clones are a bit more rough around the edges, and slightly irritating to build on with thick wire because of the crappy screws, but vape quality is the same.

In my experience, Kayfuns are just finicky. I'll get a perfect vape for weeks, then one day for no apparent reason things just go wonky. Sometimes I just over-filled the tank, sometimes I used to much or too little wick, sometimes I can't figure out what the heck is wrong at all. One time I completely forgot to replace the fill screw. I think the nature of these tanks is that they can also be affected by external conditions like room temperature and air pressure. All in all, though, I love my Kayfun clone. Even with all its inherent challenges, it's still the best and most satisfying vape I've found. I honestly don't mind fiddling with it and experimenting.

I am sure all Kayfun Lite clones are not created equal (some good, some bad), but I had a clone that was a POS. No matter what coil / wick combo I used, that thing would gurgle and flood.

I finally got fed up with it and trashed it ... Then spent the $110 and bought an authentic SvoëMesto Kayfun Lite-Plus v2.

No more problems at all.

That's funny - I distinctly remember that thread. Glad you got it sorted out and are enjoying the authentic Kayfun.

Can I ask (don't recall) which clone you had...who made it?

I saw that. I'm the one that asked about the logo on the button (in your review thread). Seriously wasn't trying to rain on your parade. That is a very nice looking setup and the mod looks like it's pretty good quality for the $$$.

As for the KFL clone I bought, it's an Ehpro. I had one before and the quality seemed pretty good. I can't compare it to a real one as I've never seen one other than in pictures. I'm hoping that the second time's a charm, if not I may sell it and spring for an authentic one. I saw a genuine KFL V2 recently in the classified forum in "like new" condition sell for 65 bucks. I just missed it.

For $23 and change, I am real happy with this King clone ... I don't have a clue what company actually makes it, but it has been giving me reliable power for the last 2 days now.

It's built heavy with pretty good machining.

I use a Kick module in it with an Efest 18500 battery ... Feed the coil 9.5 watts. (1.6 ohm @ 3.9v)

I went from cotton ball wick, to cotton yarn wick, and now use braided silica wick (you can dry burn it) :)

Sometimes I will use a MVP 2.0 to power the Kayfun ... still at 9.5 watts

To be completely honest, just go with an authentic. With clones you never really know what you're gonna get, its always hit or miss and with vaping i want quality. Absolutely no problems on my authentics, they vape like a dream. well worth the money if you can dish it out. Or atleast go with a clone till you can spend the money on an authentic. You wont be disappointed. I dont mind RDA clones but when it comes to an RTA you want something solid and dependable.

Good old thread lock - I have 2 of the black editions, sometimes I want to get the channel locks on those things. They also do have a tight air draw even with the working air flow controller on them.
I finally bought an authentic plus v.2 from VapeRev, and I am simply estatic over it. Hands down it's much better. For only a hundred bucks it was and still is worth it.
My tobeco's are also staining on the insides of the chimney, that's not happening with the S.V. model.

So quick question, you say the authentic is much better. Is the vape quality improved also, better flavor? Or is it simply higher quality machining?
