This thing Kicks hard! By far wayyyyy better than my old single coil setup.

Two nano coils wrapped around my syringe needle 12wraps 28g kanthal.

Glow, Couldn't get one coil to compress tight all the way so screw it haha. It works Perfect anyway.

Wick, I just folded the wick over another sort of like an X

Thought about doing this. Had it caused any damage to insulators?

No, I lifted the coils as high as I could and gave them enough space between eachother to try and make sure that doesn't happen. I opened up the airhole all the way to give more air to try cool it down too. Kinda Hoping it won't burn anything Lol

just built one of these on one of my Hcigar 3.1 clones. 28 gauge 10 wrap came out to .49 ohms. The vapor is warm, flavor is great, solid cloud for a Kayfun. Now that I've tried it out on my clone, I'll probably do another one on one of my auth KLF+. Going to shoot for a higher ohm though, maybe .7 or so. Overall I think this is my fave Kayfun build yet. Wish I took pics whilst I was doing it....

I really liked the look of this coil set-up, and you all made it sound so simple. Now, I have been building single coils for the last 9 months : T3, PT, Fogger, KFL+, and Russian 91%. No problem. Well, I must have gone through 10 or more coils and just couldn't get them installed on the build deck. The kept twisting and deforming or wound up misaligned. Determined to make this work, I came up with this tool to hold the coils while I twisted their leads together and attached them.

Now I can have dual coils like the big boys (and girls) do.

I am really happy that you guys are having good success with a dual coil setup. I was able to get mine running well enough and firing even on my VV mods, but was not happy with the flavor it produced with my go-to juices.

On single coil builds, I am getting great results even as high as 15 watts, but with the dual coil, although I was getting a ton of vapor, the flavors were very muted. This is on a stock KFL clone, so maybe the issue is a result of insufficient airflow?

Any thoughts from a pro on this?

When you first install the first coil it's going to be tough to get the second one on. I like to heat the first coil up and with needle nose or tweezers pinch the coil after heating it up to compress it tight then I start mounting the second one. Just takes practice. Wrap the leads around a full turn to assure it won't go anywhere and leave your screws back out enough to give you room to wrap the second. once both coils on deck just tighten down the screws and position the coils over the airhole, the kanthal will let you bend it into position. Then just heat them both up and compress the coils till they heat up evenly and wick it up and go!

I was getting better flavor, What was your resistance? my SVD had a hard time with the duals for some reason I just stick to my mechanical now. If it's a KFL+ back out the airflow screw all the way out and try that. If it's just the KFL then might drill out your airhole? It's tricky though so I wouldn't do it..

I just did a dual barrel on my KFL+ - Out of 30 gauge so I went with 28 gauge wire, 10 wraps on a 1/16 bit for each. Comes out to .57 ohms, and I am running it on my Nemesis with a VTC4. Ideally I'd like to use 30 gauge ~ .7 ohms. This build is dope, flavor is amazing, but it feels a little too warm. If the KFL+ had more airflow it might could just be perfect

The dual build I setup was right at .6 ohms. I was able to fire it on all my mods (had to crank down the 134), but despite the good quantity of vapor, the flavor wasn't there. Both mine are non-plus clones, so I am comfortable modding them and plan to open one of them up a bit for lower resistance builds.

There was another thread going and it reminded me that at the same time I setup my dual coil build, I also switched to a different cotton for my wicks. Since switching back to a single build, I still am experiencing less flavor, so I think that it may end up having been a wicking material issue, not a coil build issue.

I should know better as a scientist. Only change one variable at a time dummy! I will be rewicking tonight or tomorrow and post back. Thanks!

So I found some 32 gauge wire layin around my build area. Twisted it up, built a twisted 32 gauge double barrel coil, 8/9 wrap around a 1.18mm drill bit, cotton wick, on my KFL+ v2 ~.78 ohms. My fave double barrel build I've done yet! (Done about 6-7). I have some 30 gauge Kanthal coming in soon so I am excited to try it with that. I'd like to get a double barrel at .7 ohms. I feel like that'll be optimal.
