Got my new AeroTank and all the coils were crap. I tried to rebuild them and the 1st turned out great. But since I'm vaping Boba's it didn't last very long. Every dual coil rebuild since has been a miserable failure. I love the way the AeroTank looks on my svd so I got to tinkering. I used the AeroTank base and put one of my many single coil heads in it. Got a little leaking while it's upside down but who vapes upside down??? lol Then I took an grommet that goes on the top of the coil head from a short stemmed dual coil flipped it upside down and stuck it on top if the other grommet and voila... No leaks. Not even upside down. I can build single coils all day long so this is a grata find for me. Someone's probably already did and posted about this kinda thing. I'm just posting my experience with it. Now I'm one Happy Vaper!!! :vapor:

I ordered a couple of these tonight. Seemed like good deal. I can build a single microcoil in a standard protank head that outperforms the stock dual coil heads by a long shot, so I don't need the Protank 3 style tank that comes with the Aero. But I'd love to try the adjustable aero base!

Been running single coils in mine. No probs. The adjustable airflow base also works on Davide and Tatroe tanks.

Overall, I like the Aerotank, for what it is. Doesn't compare to my KFL+, but for a clearo, I think its darn good.

Shame Sun-Vapers doesn't ship to Canada, otherwise I'd retrofit all my clearos with the base. Anyone know where I can get just the base in Canada?

Been thinking about getting a couple more bases for my PT II & PT III but I got all my original bases drilled out to my perfect draw. So it seems like a waste of $$$.

Holy cow I owe you so big or this one. Been pulling my hair out trying to figure why the protank carts were leaking like crazy on my aerotank. Was already leaving the grommet fairly high before to allow better flow on the rebuilt coils, but it would leak the second it tipped over. Stuck the grommet on the chimney instead and they are dry as can be, not to mention drawing MUCH better. Now I just wish I had found this a week ago :) Thanks agian.

So for you single coil users are you using rebuilt PT heads or rebuilding the duel coil heads as single coils?

I rebuild the duals into 2mm (5/64) single coils. Works great no leaks, gurgles or dry hits and the flavor beats the stock duals by a country mile!

Click on the blue "2" next to blog entries under my avatar to see a two part tutorial on how I rebuild them.

I bought my Kanger Aerotank Mega a month ago when the Aspire Nautilus heads started being one day additions to the recoil pile. The Kanger dual coils tasted great, but I went through a box of 5 the first week and started looking at sizes and thread compatibility.

Kanger T3S coils fit perfectly in the Aerotank Mega and vape like a freight train with no leaks. I use them on the Protank and the with and without the air flow base or the Aerotank Mega. They are easy to recoil, too.

This is a compatibility chart for coils and tanks. The Mega is listed in the dual coil part of the chart, but the T3D is a dual coil version of the T3S. Seems the T3 design fits a lot if products. On my Mega I can feel the silicone cap being pressed slightly at the end of the threads just like I do on the Protank and Protank 2.

I've done both using the T3S and the original DC head as a single coil. Check out Riptrippers on YouTube. He builds just about every popular tank in his videos and does both dual and single coil rebuilds on some, especially the Kangers.
