Hi,

I have an authentic istick Pico 25 with Firmware v1.04 installed. If I download the UpdateEleaf v1.04, the device is recognized when I plug it to my MAC, and I can even change the logo picture. But if I download UpdateEleaf v1.05, the device isn't recognised — it shows "Unknown Device". Is there a fix for this and a way to update to v1.05 effectively? And, is it worth upgrading?

Thanks
F

Welcome and glad you joined.
Might like to contact:
local B&M Vape Shop (Visit) -----Might be simple.
Vendor who sold it ---see if they willadvise (any authorized distributor).
Manufacturer contact ---see if they will advise. Eleaf USA's official online store (http://www.eleafus.com)

Is there a problem with the Pico that would warrant doing a Firmware update?

More problems are caused with firmware updates for MOD's than are solved in my opinion and I have updated firmware on perfectly working MOD's to not be happy with how the update performed so I rolled them back. Now if it ain't broke I do not look for a fix.

I'm using the Arctic Fox firmware on all of my Eleaf devices. It has a bit of a learning curve and it's not a lot of fun setting it up, but once you do it adds a lot more ability to customize the menus.

Interesting, I was looking at the FW updates and especially arctic fox.
Decided against doing so as the mod seems to work fine with 316 despite some reports otherwise.

Is there anything that I should know/am missing?

Exotic multi-wire SS coils with longer ramp up times can sometimes confuse the Eleaf stock firmware into thinking that the wire is not actually stainless. This makes it kick back into wattage mode and makes people think the mod can't do temp control on stainless. Arctic Fox addresses this.

In truth, the stock firmware handles things just fine. It's the user not understanding that there's no good reason to mount a dual build of fat Claptons on a mod that can "only" do 85 Watts with a top of the line battery. But that's a discussion for another thread.

Ahh, that makes sense!
I am using dual coil of 29AWG, 30 watt and 135/140degC.
Think I am clear of the 'danger zone" there.

Thanks for the clarification, am happy with the stock FW.
Read about the screen burn and just use it in stealth all the time so that too is nothing to worry about.
