Hey guys,

I just picked up the istick 50W last night and right out of the box I noticed that it seems to be under powered?

I have it topped with a nautilus Mini with a 2.0 ohm coil. I have to set it to 22W in order to get the same hit as I do on my istick 20W @8.5W

Is there a known issue here or is my unit faulty?

Thanks

that would be 4.3V, if I switch to voltage mode I get the same performance. Very weak.

needs to be cranked up to 6.5V

4.3V on my iStick 20W performs much better.

I realize that the iStick 20W uses a different signal and outputs higher than what the display says but I don't think its normal to be vaping at 22W for a 2ohm coil

That's odd. I am currently using the same combination (iStick 50 and Nautilus Mini) and my settings are way different. I'm using the 1.8 coil (the iStick detects it as 2.0 ohms) and in voltage mode I have it set to 4.3V which results in 9.2 watts. I just tried cranking up my iStick to 6.5V and the vape just tastes burnt, albeit not dry.

Ok so I'm not crazy

22W is just perfect for me on this nautilus mini with 2.0ohm coil, never a dry hit and tastes exactly as it should as if it were set to 10W

I suspected maybe something wrong with my nautilus but it works as expected on the istick 20W

I contacted the vendor... its been literally under 24hrs since I left his store so I hope he's willing to at least exchange it for another one...

FYI- The iStick 20W is tuned to mean rather than RMS mode like the 50W is. There has been much discussion about this on the forum. The iStick 20W will "hit" harder than the 50W set at the same wattage. Not sure that you should have to more than double your wattage though.
