Hey everyone. Let me get started by saying that I have been using the Aspire Nautilus BDC for the past 4 months and it has been awesome. Recently, I have been having issues with some of my juices. I use to vape 50/50, and I wanted to have less throat hit with more vapor, so I switched to 20/80 (pg/vg) in hopes to do so.

For some reason, the throat hit has gone WAY up, and I don't get nearly as much vapor as I use to. If I switch my tank to the largest air setting and slightly blow through it, I will get a few drops of liquid out of the hole. Usually this just means I've used it on the smaller holes too much and have drawn too much liquid to the coil as consequence, but I have only been using the largest two air holes. You would think that with VG I would be having more of a 'dry-hit' issue than a flooding issue.

I have replaced the coils and cleaned the tank inside and out, and everything is tight and secure. I use 1.6 ohm coils and usually run it between 7.5-8 watts on my MVP2. I don't believe the liquid was mixed wrong, as it is noticeably thicker than my older 50/50 and 60/40 liquids (which I could easily handle the throat hit). My friend also has a nautilus, and he has used my liquid and it seems fine out of his. Note: I have been using 12mg nic in all of my liquids. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

The Nautilus... Once all the rage, now getting reports of problems left and right. I have a Nautilus as well and I've found to never use anything above 60%VG because it's bound to create problems.

You should try switching back to your 50/50 juice and see if the problem persists. If it doesn't, you'll know the problem is purely the juice. If it does, take the entire tank apart and clean it. Try again. If it still persists, I would replace the coil or do a coil rebuild (28g kanthal wrapped 8 times around a 5/64" drill bit). Here's a video on how to to the rebuild from mista RIP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAmIJIUeEUg

If none of the above work, I would say it's time to retire the Nautilus unfortunately.

If you're not opposed to refilling after about 20-25 hits or so, look into a Magma RDA. It has fantastic flavor, like I mean freaking fantastic. You can build it at 1.25Ω (26g Kanthal wrapped 11 times around a 3/32" drill bit) and run it on your MVP2 at 15 Watts. It's actually quite amazing and there's none of the frustration that comes with the Nautilus. Just my $0.16 cents.

I've switched down to the smallest air hole setting using the 20/80 liquid, and inbetween hits I pull off of it without firing the battery, and I'm getting better flavor without as much throat hit. Weird, but at least it's working somewhat. I'm interested in the nautilus mini...I've seen people vape it up to 18 watts on the stock coil while maintaining good flavor. I've also heard good things about the mega aerotank. Maybe I'll have to think about upgrading eventually. I've thought about getting into RBA's, but I tried rip tripper's nano-coil build for the nautilus and failed miserably, so I'm quite skeptical about rebuilding :/.
