I'm so used to using the lanyard when I'm vaping around the house (use it so I don't drop it like I always do) that I feel like I'll probably drop my chuck a lot. So is there any way to attach a lanyard to a chuck?

EDIT: Is that even something that Jeff might possibly do for me if I sent it in and asked? Also I hear that all new chucks are vented... Could I use tht hole to put a lanyard through by myself?

Here's a thread:

And here's Jeff's solution.

Funny how the guy who builds the CHUCKs has one of the first-gen outdated end caps on his daily unit... and why am I speaking in third person?

The paper clip won't hold.

I did find a flash light with a similar endcap as the chuck and the side of it had a whole drilled on an angle...hard to explain but I'll post a picture.

I was dead set on it for a while too but the dang thing is heavy, so around the neck isn't a cool option. I have my ring which I'll be taking with for a hike, seems to work well.
Poeia said hers falls off but I would have to work real hard to get mine off.

Better yet, stop at a tack store (western) and get the little metal hondo clips that you use in a cowboy hat, they work exactly the same but already are shaped and the metal is flat, just clip the ends of them shorter. Bet that would work like a charm.

I know mine took some tugging and always held, cause loosing your hat would get you a five second penalty.
I spent a lot of time at tack stores on the web. Never figured out what a hondo clip is.

I like that.

I have a rotten eye but it seems to me that the vent holes Jeff drills are 3/16" in diameter. Maybe a smidge less. If so, it seems these would be a good fit. They'd fill up half the hole and, after you smooshed part down on the inside, they'd stick up about 1/2". I know they're a little pricey (49 cents for 100, heeeee)

I have to put an order into Amazon next week sometime. Any thoughts from people more mechanically minded than I am? Would it be strong enough or would it straighten out and fall off with the slightest tug?

I went to Pilates today. As I walked away, I pulled out my Little Chuck to start vaping. The atomizer wasn't there. It's happened before that I've unscrewed it too far (to prevent a meltdown in my purse) and the atomizer has detached. So I searched that section of the purse. Nothing.

I retraced my steps, back to the studio then left again. As I headed home (it was the only atty I had with me so I couldn't do my errands), I kept my eyes down. And there, in a little hole in the sidewalk, was my atomizer. Obviously, it wasn't going in my mouth like that so my next stop was Walgreen's where I bought a box of alcohol swabs.

None of this would have happened if I hadn't removed my fully functional Chuck lanyard so Chuck Miro Jr. couldn't whack me while I exercised.

Sorry about the quality of the first picture. The others are better.

I combined Jeff's paper clip prototype with Amy's cotter pin suggestion. I used a stainless steel 3/64" x 1/2" cotter pin. The half inch length is perfect but I think the 3/64" might be too narrow. It's got a lot of room to wiggle back and forth. I don't think it will be strong enough for a Big Chuck. It might not be strong enough for the Little one. Also, the loop at the top was barely wide enough for me to slide a lanyard with a thread in. The weight of the Chuck will probably break the cord fairly soon. The 5/64" would probably work a little better on both counts.

The keyring in the last few pictures is obviously too big. I just used what I had on hand.

The downside is that you can't stand the Chuck on it's end once you add the cotter pin.
