Wow! Lucky I like pure. Thanks for the info i guess pure will be my new flavor then. BummerI loved the Drops but this is good too. I Googled and Googled and came up empty on info.
If you Google pmta, youd get the info as to why, but basically, the FDA wants to review all vape hardware and juice, and either approve or deny sale in the US. Might want to give the salt version a try, if the flavor is worth it. You'd be surprised how easy DIY is though, and you'd be able to be even pickier than you are now to boot...

Welcome to the vapocalypse!

For now, but don't get too comfortable.

Just because a PMTA application was submitted by a company for a particular ejuice and that PMTA application was "accepted for review" by the FDA, it doesn't mean it will ultimately be approved for sale by the FDA after the PMTA has been reviewed (which will likely take a year or longer).

It's my personal belief (and it's only MY belief) that the FDA will likely apply the same rules to e-cig ejuice (even 0mg) that it applies to cigarettes - which means only straight tobacco flavors will be approved and that the only flavored tobacco flavor that MIGHT be approved is menthol tobacco flavors.

Flavored Cigarettes
In 2009, FDA banned cigarettes with characterizing flavors other than menthol (e.g., cherry, chocolate), which are known to appeal to youth and young adults. This ban was an important first step for responsible tobacco regulation to protect the American public, particularly children, from the dangers of cigarettes—the product most responsible for tobacco-related death and disease in the United States.

I wouldn't even know where to begin let alone know which flavors to mix and how much. I'm not sure I even have the time to mess with it. I work full time and have my own business on the side. I wonder if they'll find a way to put a stop to DIY as well at some point.

It appears they are now shut down now due to COVID so I'm going to have to figure something out. I like their juice because it tastes (for lack of a better term) very clean. I can vape every flavor I've tried from them.

I have about 8 different juices sitting around collecting dust because I don't care for them from various producers. This should be interesting.

Making ejuice can be quick and easy however getting a recipe right is where your time gets eaten up. For me, I only vape single flavor recipes so it's a non-issue. But if you vape flavors that require more than one flavor to be mixed into a juice, it can take some time before you get the recipe right, if you ever get it right. And some recipes will require steeping (meaning, just let it sit for a few days to a few weeks).

However, once you get your recipes down, the mixing part doesn't take much time and, IMHO, mixing by weight (as opposed to volume) takes less time due to less cleanup (but not by a whole lot). I prefer mixing by weight, but other prefer by volume.

But if you're too busy for any of that then DIY isn;t for you and your only solution is to look for other commercial juices you like and hope they will be around for a while.

I wonder if they'll find a way to put a stop to DIY as well at some point.

Nicotine base will be the only obstacle (but a big one) IMHO. I see no way that VG, PG and flavoring can be banned or regulated as a tobacco product as long as a non-vape retailer is selling them.

Many of us were where you are at now, Sassy.

(omg, could that sentence be any more clumsy?)

I don't find it taking a lot of time. Maybe once every 2 or 3 weeks. It really is not hard at all. I agree with @UncleJunkle in mixing by weight. A digital scale is under $20. There are great recipe calculators that figure the amounts for you.
It's just that first batch that has all the upfront costs, after that, it's gravy. The savings (if you carry on) are huge. Just roughly, you could make up the initial investment after mixing your first 6 30ml bottles.
But for me, it's about having years of juice, (yea, I love the savings).

Welcome, best of luck in whatever direction you take!!!

:)

I agree.

This is paramount to me with juice. I've found the cleanest to be unflavored, and every once in a while I put a couple drops of flavored juice on my coil, just to see why I don't anymore...

Just curious, can you describe the flavors of the juices you like? Not just how they describe it... how you perceive it. Maybe we can find replacements... something similar. Where are you located (no need to be specific... just a general idea)?

My favorite was Aqua drops, I also like Pure, Oasis is okay but I don't love it.

I can't really describe how they taste very well. I'm not one of those who can pick out the subtleties. I can pick out things like cinnamon vanilla and menthol but unless one flavor is particularly dominant I can't tell you what I taste in blends. Drops was supposed to be like skittles. It didn't taste like skittles to me but it was light, fruity, and clean. Pure is also that way but different and maybe a bit heavier than drops. I like fruity flavors. My son had one juice that tasted like a sour apple jolly rancher that I really liked. I know I also like a lot of juices with pineapple. I'm not fond of berry except maybe strawberry. I prefer an apple candy type flavor to a fresh apple flavor if that makes sense. I don't like tobacco, menthol, or cinnamon in juice BUT I can tolerate Aqua's menthol just not my preference. I live in East Texas, Smith County area.

It's very possible to make DIY eliquid that tastes like the Jolly Rancher hard candies. I make 2 (Green Apple and Watermelon) for a friend, and she loves them! Still want to make the Grape, Lime, and Pineapple for her to try, too.

Since you like eliquids with Pineapple...there are a lot of DIY recipes that use it. Some are fruity tropical ones, some are for pineapple upside down cake, etc.

@2Sassy4u -

Ejuice Steals has the Aqua Pure in 0mg, 3mg, and 6mg...60mL bottles:

Aqua - Pure Ejuice - 60ml

They also have a bunch of the other Aqua eliquids.

Search Results

However, depending on what state you live in...the S/H could be very high. Some states now require Adult Signature on Delivery, which is very expensive.

ETA: I'm sorry I didn't see your post earlier, because they've had a sale in the last month or so...with 30% off sitewide. BUT...their 25% off sitewide sale IS still going on until midnight tonight. Just use coupon code 2021 at Checkout!

I looked into DIY a little back in the fall but really, I need some sort of dummies guide, I think. I get overwhelmed when trying to look into buying supplies.

I ordered some juice from Vermillion River (we used to buy from them years ago and I remembered I liked them) I got it and I still like them but their juices are 50/50 and it's too much PG for me now. I've become a little sensitive to it. It's killing my throat. My local shop got pure back in for now so I'm not sure what I'll do. I don't miss smoking but it was sure less complicated.

I've worked one-on-one with quite a few people to teach them how to do DIY, and all of them are loving it. 5 of them are ECF members. 8 are local people. If you want to PM me (send me a private message)...I'd be more than happy to help you learn how to do it, too. :) I'm a retired teacher, so I'm used to teaching things step-by-step, the easiest way possible, and also...there's no such thing as a silly or dumb question, IMO.
