Aluminum being soft is a myth. Yes, there are "soft" grades of aluminum, but there are also grades with a hardness approaching that of carbon steel. Google "structural aluminum grades" to see what I'm about.

What the clone (fasttech et al) tubes are made of, I can't say... and I've not seen any adds that identify the specific grade of aluminum. Considering the typical cost is 1/4th that of genuine Atmomixani tubes... you're not "breaking the bank" to feed your curiosity.

The only thing you need to look for, because anodizing functions as a electrically resistive surface treatment, is that the threaded portion is not anodized.
I recall a thread concerning a batch of clone tubes (from who, where and what color I don't know) that were anodized on all (including internal threaded and contact) surfaces... and that anodizing would need to be removed to provide adequate conductivity.

I have the FT nemi clone tube in blue, and has the same low voltage drop as the SS tubes, maybe less, being one tube and not 2 for 18650 mode. For $9 get all three sizes, brings color to the collection, and I like blue too. lol

Here it is with the Aqua on top with a 0.3 ohm build, tis a vape monster, course the other 3 in the pic vape quite nice also. All at 30 watts or more.

A Rose then a Rose followed by flashi and Aqua.

Aluminum is more conductive than brass for the most part. There are differing grades and alloys of both so there is some overlap I think. For a mod you probably won't notice much of a difference as the amount of current is relatively small compared to the size of the tubes. The best gains are made at the bottle necks: 510 connector, battery pin, exc. I have actually been looking at getting some of the aluminum tubes for my nemmies. I just worry about how well the anodizing is going to hold up to the abuse I throw at my mods. Sometime I think they try and jump out of my hands.

Aluminum being soft is no myth. Take any pure aluminum and you can scratch it with your fingernails.

Aluminum alloys are NOT aluminum, they are composite materials that will usually contain several low conductive or non-conductive metals mixed with the aluminum, and they will have reduced electrical conductivity because of it.

1000 Series is 99.9% pure aluminum. Every alloy listed is less conductive, many losing 20% or more in electrical conductivity.

Don't forget how it looks and what you want. The anodized aluminum is only on the surface and will get scratched. Once it does there is nothing you can do to bring it back. I could not live with that (I have mild OCD). Polished brass will tarnish and you can either embrace the tarnish or polish it again. Brass will also scratch and you need to embrace that too. You can patina brass and be one with the randomness and if it ever gets really damaged clean it all up and patina again.

I like brass that looks like it spent years on the bottom of the ocean so that's what I have. You may like blue aluminum and that's what YOU should have.
