I did not set out to clone anything, just looking for a good pina colada. When I vaped this version, I recognized the flavor immediately. I dug out my old sample bottle of Halo's Malibu for a side-by-side comparison and was delighted to taste that I'd duplicated it. I got a second opinion from a Malibu fan, who could not tell them apart. We vaped Malibu and the clone on separate eGo batteries, LR cartomizers. I'm really surprised how simple it is:

HALO'S MALIBU, INADVERTENT CLONE
12% FW (Flavor West) Pina Colada
1% FA (Flavour Art) Jamaican Rum

Yeah, that's all! I mixed at 75/25 PG/VG (18mg), steeped in warm water a few minutes, shook it like mad, and tried it. It looks, smells, pours, and tastes like my (month-old+) 18mg Halo Malibu sample.

TO MAKE IT EVEN TASTIER:
FA's Jamaican Rum is a fabulous flavor - and strong, so measure carefully. If you're looking for throat hit, go to 2% - niiiiice!
A little cool hit is nice. Koolada at 0.5%-1% appeals to me.
I'm really liking this with both improvements. It's better than Halo's version (GASP!) :)

Is there not a bit of mint in Malibu from Halo?

Halo describes Malibu as having "a light menthol wrapper" or some such. Whatever flavors you do or don't detect in Malibu, this clone freshly-mixed matches a well-aged Malibu. It's uncanny - a really great copy. (Hm - maybe FW's Pina Colada has a little menthol in it.) Malibu isn't a flavor I love (or I wouldn't have an old sample still lying around), but I figure someone out there loves it and might like to mix their own.

Of course a menthol-lover can add menthol. I prefer Koolada and extra rum. It won't be a flavor-match after you add to it, but a variation you prefer is even better :)
